Question about Uniden Lands Phones
The base on the phone is no getting power and the handset has no dial tone. The window that shows the messages is blank, it does not even show a zero. I checked the outlet and it is working. I have a phone on the second floor and it still receives calls using the same phone number. I have disconnected the first floor phone, waited for 10 minutes and there is still no light in the message window. The handsets are saying that the battery is low.

This sounds like the register-deregister problem elsewhere on this page. Try holding down the "end" and "#" buttons for about 6 seconds to deregister the phones and then reregister them. I had this problem too and it worked for me.

My battery is a Ni-Cd. I bought it new on eBay (TL26554 battery number). I allowed the new battery to charge for a long time and then tried to see if it would work. But no go....the handset gave me the same error message. Good Luck to you too! Mmmmmm

SOURCE: handset has No link to base
I was having the same problem with the same model phone, and fixed the problem by rebooting the phone – unplugging the AC and phone cord from the base station and plugging both back it, then removing and replacing the handset to regenerate the security code.

SOURCE: handset does not work
Your handset is no longer communicating with your base. Depending on your model, the solutions can be a couple of different options. If I could view pdf files on this computer I would look it up for you. But here is the link to the manual on Unidens website- http://www.uniden.com/pdf/TRU8865-2om.pdf
Nonetheless, give this a try. Power down your base, and pull the battery out of your handset. Plug the battery back in the handset and set the bad handset in the base cradle, and then power up the base. Wait about 30 seconds, then give the phone a try. If it still does not work, then you need to try to "re-register" the bad handset back to the base. Look in the manual under "registration" procedures. Hope my help fixes it for you. Good Luck, CG
