I would, first, suspect the battery. The fix is easy: get a new battery. If it takes the initial charge, you have your answer, and shuld buy another battery. If not, replace the charger.
Since the odds are the battery is at fault, you're back in business. If not the battery, a new charger gets it done. Main thing, you needed two batteries ennyhoo, so if the battery change works, you're where you shoud'a been in the first place. mw
Try jumpering the battery directly to the motors to see if the motors spin, if they don't then replace the motors as needed, if they do spin, then use a multimeter and check for 12 volts at the motor wires when the accelerator is pressed, if its showing no volts then work your way back to the shifter switch and check for volts, then to the foot pedal to find where the power isn't getting through then replace components as needed
Hello, the first thing I would recommend that you buy a repair manual that shows step by step instructions, with illustrations I can't do that here. You'll need some common metric tools and a voltmeter, there are high voltages involved and you will need to wear insulated gloves rated at least to 1000 volts DC to prevent severe injury or possibly death.
The actual replacement is not that difficult:
Disconnect the 12 volt auxiliary battery
disconnect the orange service plug on the hybrid battery and tape the connector on the battery
remove the rear seat and the seat back braces
remove the trunk carpet and the spare tire cover
remove the two orange cables going to the front
measure dc voltage at the terminals where the cables were removed there must be less than 1 volt.
remove the 12 mm bolts that connect the battery to the body including the torx bolt
slide the battery back and have someone help to lift it out.
bad alternator - yes you may have gotten a bad one.
wiring - did you put all the wires back the right way?
test the battery in the car.
1. voltage at battery not running 10-12 volts
2. votage at battery car running 13-14 volts
if all is well - you may need to reset computer / replace computer.
When was the last time you replaced the batteries? These units will not start with old / failed batteries connected, or without batteries connected.
If you have a voltmeter, check the batteries. Your unit should have two batteries harnessed together. if you check the individual battery, you should see just over 13 volts, together should be around 26 volts. if you see less than 12.5 volts, that would be why the unit will not start.
These type of UPS's put out a simulated sine wave on battery power. When you test these with a regular voltmeter, it tries to read it as a pure "rounded" sinewave and will nearly always report 80 volts, instead of 120 volts. If you test it with a true RMS voltmeter you'll see that it is 120. Otherwise, these units are getting older and the batteries need to be replaced every 3-4 years. Yes you can replace the inside batteries yourself , just take the old ones out and go to Battery world or a similar shop and get replacements then all you have to do is repack them yourself and put them back into the battery case .
