O.k. The Beomaster 5000 needs new Quiescent current presets , you can temporarily solve the problem by turning the two presets (in the main amplifiers) fully anti - clockwise .
Your beocord needs new belts for sure .. availiable from CPC of Preston .. Hope this helps ..

Check the r/c is not causing this fault.Clean around the no4 pad.A b&o dealer should still be able to look at this unit assuming all their technicians are not youngsters given its age!

there is probably an internal fault but check that the pre out main in links are both there and the sockets to them are properly soldered.

Try one other thing..headphones. If there's only 1 channel in the headphones then you'll need to take it to a tech.
Depends on where in the country you are as to a good tech.
I know some...even me in the Northeast

There is a defect in the pre-amp section of the unit. Without seeing it and taking a few measurements, I can't give you any particulars. A rough estimate for a repair wouldbe about $10-$25 in parts plus the local labor rate.
