a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: ativa router
Reset the Ativa router to factory defaults. This is normally accomplished by holding the reset button down for 10 seconds or more with power on for most routers.
Once you do that, you need to connect the computer directly to the motorola modem and configure it to be in "bridge mode".
Putting your modem into bridge mode means to bypass the router function and make it work as a simple modem. And, yes, if you do that then you must configure your wireless router to make the internet connection. If you don't want to do that, you can leave the modem as it is, I think the Ativa wireless router can still work even if your modem is still in PPPoE & you can still configure the router as an ethernet switch & wireless access point.
Now you can connect the router (after powering EVERYTHING down), turn on the modem, wait for steady connect, turn on the router, wait two minutes, boot the connected PC.
After you get a wired machine connected, you can enter the Ativa setup and configure the wireless security.
Open up IE or Firefox. On address bar, type in "192.168.2.1" and click enter.
Ativa wireless setup should load up. On top right, there is a Log In button. If this is your first time login in, leave it blank and submit.
Check up on the following: a) Internet WAN > Connection Type > select Dynamic; b) Wireless > Channel and SSID > Disable ESSID Broadcast, also set wireless channel to AUTO; b) Wireless > Security > set up your security, you should know what to do.
Now for the most important thing. Click Firewall, and DISABLE IT!! By doing this, it said that you'll will be vulnerable to hacker etc...blah blah, but with security keys to access wireless and virus program/window firewall should be enough to make you stop worrying. Apply changes, then the thing restarts.
*** also leave MTU setting to 1454 & set it to auto connect; leave the DNS & MAC settings alone; also leave LAN settings as it is.
i would greatly appreciate if you could give me the modem's exact model no. (such as SB4200, 2100 etc.) and the router's as well....

Modem light goes RED if No external Ethernet device has been attached and detected OR The Ethernet link is down.
in your case it is going to be the DSL MODEM ....
Second cause could be The WAN interface has been disabled by the firmware.
TO enable it log on to your router's address http://192.168.10.1.
and look for WAN options.
Thanks ,, please let me now it worked or not

First of all: it would be good to know which devices you are using. This would help to be more specific.

THE MAIN LINE GOES INTO THE WAN PORT FROM THE MODEM PROVIDED FROM YOUR MOTOROLA .....THEN THE 4 PORTS ARE TO CONNECT THE COMPUTER ....HAVE FUN

If you are not using a router, you probably have one built into your modem provided by your ISP. You would need to either reply back with the make and model of the modem or contact your ISP and ask them how to do it.
