Switch on machine and start its program. While it is running then turn program selector control to TOP position. After a few seconds ALL lights should flash and machine should stop. It ought now to have been reset to normal.

It sounds like the transit bolts or some of the packing is still in place. Running the machine with these in place can do serious damage.

SOURCE: simpson enduro 701 washing machine

you have a faulty brake motor. It pulls in and releases the brake. When pulled right it it contacts a switch which lets the other actions like washing and spinning to occur. $77 to $86 off ebay or appliance stores. turn off ac. remove back off machine. reach around left side of frame at the bottom of the tub and push the brake forward manually and let the little plastic retainer turn sideways and release the wire rope retainer that comes out of the brake motor. remove the power cable to the brake motor by pulling out the connector on the right side under the tub. remove the two 8mm screws retaining the brake motor and remove the brake motor. reverse procedure with new item.
enjoy uninterrupted washes!

Tip

Bravo! Great advice and a easy fix to a BIG problem....at least my wife thought...

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADING washing machines. If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here’s the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

  1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
  2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
  3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
  4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
  5. Here’s a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don’t own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
  6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there’s nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
  7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
  8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT – DO NOT FORGET!).
  9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console – DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). “C00” will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
  10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
  11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
  12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

I am going to need a little more details of the problem
1. What did the big sound, sound like? was it a crashing noise and then silence or was there still a sound like something trying to move ?

2. Was it a small medium or large load laundry?

3. Have you tried using it after a while?
3.1 If yes please describe what happened when you started the machine again.
3.2 If no. Please try to start the machine without a load in it and describe what happens.

I bet it sounds like a jumbo on take off when its on full spin, sounds like the drum bearings have gone. Quite a big job to replace but not beyond a fairly competent DIYer. Go to

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1401/how-to-replace-the-bearings-on-a-washing-mach.html

you'll find a very good video that shows you how to change the bearings (assuming that's the problem) I managed to sort mine using this video.
If this helps please remember to rate me

Kia Carnival LS 2000 model. My carnival has undergone engine overhaul but when the mechanic tried to start the engine it failed to start. The battery is okay and the starter is also in good condition....

This is quite a big question as the mechanic who had done such a big job is not able to identify the fault of his work. In the first place what was the reason for the full overhall. ? it is important that the valves are set right with the specified gap and settings. If the engine was removed , then the timing setting is VERY IMPORTANT. If the mechanic was not sure of this I would advice you to seek a good expert help as this forum has a limitation for a fault brought upon than that was natural. Get help to reset, check your timings, check fuel and spark to be correct. then your engien will start. Hope my advice helps. Good day.
