SOURCE: Craftmans Snow Thrower 247887001 Tire Flat. How to Refill.

The tires are probably tubeless type. If the bead is broken ( not sealed to the rim) the tire will not inflate. Taking the weight off the tire will some times allow the bead to seal against the rim and allow tire to be inflated. You can also put a small ratchet strap around the tread of the tire and tighten it up. This will squash the tire and make the bead seal up. MAKE SURE to loosen strap as soon as bead seals and tire begins to inflate. Hope this helps.

Can't find the fuel line in my mtd series 300 snow thrower

that line has to be right there either on the bottom or side of that tank ,take the cover off and see where the fuel is coming from alot of times it is the bowl on the carburator that leaks this should be drained at the end of use so it does not get a clogged needle and seat at the end of the season , this is the number problem with things that are used only a few times a year and they let them sit with the fuel in the carbs ,

Snow thrower starts then shuts down after a few minutes

Hmmm... THAT sounds like you have an obstruction (ice???) in the fuel line or in the bottom of the tank.

Around the back of the engine, just below the cylinder cooling fins. The shut off should face you if standing in front of the recoil starter, for the fuel tank. The fuel line should wrap around I the side of the carb and be protected by the metal cover surrounding it.

I have a toro snow thrower 622 that is leaking fuel. its coming from under the unit fast. any ideas to why and how to repair?

a rapid volume leak could indicate a cracked/rotted fuel hose. Not uncommon for a gasoline engine that sits for long periods of time between use. If all hoses seem in order a stuck float valve(needle & seat) in the carburator would also cause rapid overflow of fuel. This willm require a carb overhaul to repair

Snow Thrower Won't Start. I have a Sears 26" Snow Thrower Model No 247.889702. It will not start. Changed fuel, new spark plug, propoerly primed the engine, tried both pull start and electric star

does it have spark? if you can start it with starting fluid chances are the carb needs a good cleaning or replacement. fuel these days goes bad in about 2 months without stabilisers in it. gums up the tiny passages in the carbs. i suggest seafoam as a treatment but anything is better than nothing...good luck

Hi, I purchased the above snow thrower new in Nov 2009. Unfortunately, we had the driest winter on record up here in Toronto that 2009-2010 winter season. Beside testing to see if the engine started,...

Try draining the float bowl on the carburetor so that fresh fuel will flow in. Also, spray carburetor cleaner into the jets to remove any varnish from them. Add some fuel system cleaner to the tank so that when running, the cleaner will improve carburetor function. Hope this avoids a complete carburetor tear-down and clean!
