the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: The store (Shavers n More)

I contacted the manufacturer, and they sent me a list of repair centers where I can take the shaver to have the blades replaced. Their list is out of date, but there is one center I can drive to that is still in business.

SOURCE: Norelco 5825XL Replacement Blades

HQ5 is not compatible with HQ55. I've checked the Service Manual and HQ5 is the correct part. It's got to do with the driving mechanism for the head.

How often to change the filter? How do I know when it needs to be changed? How to purchase replacements?

It depends on the kind of shaver you have. A lot of shavers these days can simply be opened up and cleaned out, but if you have one that actually requires a filter to be changed I would suggest that you change it after around 8-10 shaves of stubble, fewer if you are shaving longer hair each time. As for where to find replacement filters, I would suggest simply doing a google search (you could try "[Brand Name] Shaver Filters"). You should be able to find a place online that sells exactly what you are looking for. Other than that I would suggest going back to the place where you got the shaver in the first place and asking for replacement filters there.

How do I put the blades back in my model 059750 005 000 trimmer

I have the same model. Actually, they're quite old. If you don't have replacement blades already, you can find them at Sally Beauty Supply ( sallybeauty.com for a location near you ) for about $20 for this model. The replacement blade may not be available online, but my local store has it available for purchase. You may find it available at your local beauty supply.

Remove the two screws that hold the 2-piece blades in place. Remove the blades and take note of how they are situated together. Both have flat sides that slide together where the teeth meet. Your replacement blades should be arranged in the same manner when you put them back on the trimmer. First place the smaller blade onto the clip. This is best done by aligning one of the diamond shaped hole with one of the flat prongs, then pushing the balde towards the side to help snap the other prong into the other diamond shaped hole. Once this is securely in place put the larger blade on so that the smooth surfaces touch each other and the holes for the screws are lined up. Replace the screws securely but do not tighten it. Do the same with the second screw. You should just barely be able to slide the larger blade around with some effort. You will need to do this to properly align the blades together. The teeth of both blades should never meet at the tip. The smaller blade should be about 1/16 - 1/8 of an inch away from the tip of the larger blade and should be evenly spaced all the way across the width of the blade. If you have this set properly, go ahead and tighten one of the screws. Check the spacing of the blades again to ensure they have not moved. If they have, you just need to slightly loosen the one tight screw and re-adjust. Tighten the screw back down. If all is aligned propperly, you should be able to tighten the second screw without any problems. Don't forget to lubricate the blades with the proper oil. Check you local beauty supply store if you need oil. That's it. They are now ready to trim.

Head of philips norelco speed xl fell apart.

Same thing happened to my father's shaver. After working on it for about 30 mins, this is how I fixed it. You need to start with the top silver piece/cover. Turn it over so you see inside of it. Drop the 3 screens into the holes upside down (so they face out). You need to rotate the screens until they sit as low as possible. Now drop in the 3 blades, again sharp side down. There should be a triangular piece with 3 circles attached to it. One side is gray, and the other side has a black triangular piece. If you look closely each leg of the black piece has a tiny picture of a lock and an arrow. Rotate the black piece in the opposite direction of the arrow. Place the gray side down lining it up with the three blades. Now rotate the black piece, it will lock into position, and hold the blades in place! Finally, the silver head has a little hinge on one side. This hinge is flexiable. Bend it to a 90 degree angle, and slip it into the notch on the top part of the main body of the shaver. Close the head part, in my father's shaver I had to press a lever in the front to snap it into place.

Hope this helps!
