E 000840-0000 my copier is displaying error code E 000840-0000 , its trying to grab the paper, but its not going, it says reset the copier when we do the error code comes on. what does that error code mean

Did you look the jam code up in the operators manual? might try going to the Lexmark web site and look up your model mite have a updated firmware that will fix that problem, also are you using paper that is authorized to be used with that machine? look up the spec in the op manual or web site, check the weight of the paper the paper draw rollers may be dirty clean with a small amount of soap and water.

Use a little water on grab rollers to see if that helps. If it does use a scrubby to roughen same. This is if the grab or feed rollers have become polished from use and lost the gripping surface. If the issue is after the feed rollers a motor or belt may be the problem inside and after the first feed roller.

this is 5 or more jam codes at once - likely hood is that the papers are jammed up on the fuser entrance on right hand side - if you remove the paper then go into service mode and use sim 13 to reset the code

It sounds like you are having phantom paper jams. When the printer starts a print job and tries to pull a piece of paper but can't grab it the printer thinks there is a jam but there really is not. If the paper pickup rollers are worn down they are not able to grab the paper correctly to feed it into the printer which causes this type of error. The rollers are considered user installable and come in a kit with the rollers and the paper separation pad which keeps more than one paper from being pickup up at the same time. If the printer is not working properly or to clear memory try this:
1. On the operator panel, press and hold the ON/OFF button for one second. (The display will go blank.) Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.
2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the ON/OFF button again.
3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.
Or Try This:
To clear error messages displayed on the LCD or if the printer is not functioning as expected, it may be necessary to simultaneously press Stop/Reset and ON/OFF buttons.
1. With the printer powered on, press and hold down the Stop/Reset button then press the ON/OFF button.
2. Once the printer is powered off, hold down Stop/Reset and then press ON/OFF.

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

H2 error is heat roller over temperature, try pressing the "#" key then "Interrupt" key then "C" key then "Interrupt" key to get into simulation mode and enter 14 and press start the follow instructions on screen (should be press ok). This will reset the code and restart the machine. When the machine restarts if the error was not mechanical the machine should go. If not you have one of two most likely problems; you need to reset the thermal cut-out on top of the fuser unit or the fuser lamp is blown.
