Mitsubishi ws55315 will not stay on

Hi there,

I'm sorry to break it too you, but you're TV's most likely dead.

Before throwing it out or getting it fixed, I would recommend this:

>Unplug the TV from the wall socket.
>Hold the power button on the TV with it unplugged
>Plug the TV in whilst holding the power button
>Keep holding it until the TV comes on (if it does).

Otherwise, search locally for repairmen. They would comonnly charge around $100 to $300.

Good luck and have a nice day! :)

Have a Mitsubishi WS-65819 (about 9 yrs). over past 3-4 weeks the color started to skew (3D like arch on top and bottom), then yesterday, the TV totally powered down and will not power up, totally dead. ...

You lost your convergence IC's and possibly a resister or two that are in the same circuit. If you are good at Soldering, this should be somewhat of an easy fix. I believe you can still get the IC's for this set.

When adjusting the convergence, ended up with a concave screen, then it smoked. Is this a power supply, or worse? Is there any advice that you could give me on this...

Thats usually indicating the ICs have failed. Usually with that model its best to replace the board rather than try replacing the individual components as ther are several 3.9 ohm resistors that will need to be checked and possibly replaced along with both ICs. www.tvcircuitboards.com should have the replacement board for your model if you need one.

Hello Hloggins, hi, your power supply is not producing the pulse needed to start the switching. check for the IC on the oscillator part of the power supply, you need an Oscilloscope to test this. if there is no scope. i suggest you replace the IC.

JVC AV-36D502: Input #3 doesn't work

Good day sir, its a different issue, about the capacitor, for as long as your replacement part is correct, it will work, now, there are several things you should check, the I/O device that controls the inputs of the TV, usually an IC, check your schematic diagram to trace the fault. check also the line from the input 3 to the controller IC on your diagram. Measure the voltage across the IC Vcc to ground if the IC is getting the right power, Low voltage can be cause by faulty capacitors, on the power supply line, or the IC itself is faulty, Circuit analysis and voltage measurements are needed to trace the faulty part. hope this helps thanks.

Same problem with mine

Based on what you have described, you have lost the power supply or main board. Unplug unit, carefully lay it of the front side, pull about 10-20 screws out of the back, look at the electronic boards, if you know what caps are, run your finger across the top of the caps,if they are swelled up, then that board is bad. Those boards go for 150.00 to 500.00 each.

On some of these sets i have notice a resistor opens leading to horz. osc. circuit allowing set not to come on as long as the diode you replaced is not shorting out again . Follow the path this diode takes to that circuit . It's been awhile since i've worked on one of those but they were a common problem . Also include the model # if this does not take care of problem and i'll do alittle research on that chassis. Good luck

Tv won't turn on

Your problem could be the Convergence board is loading down the power supplies and will not let the TV set come on, or the power/deflection board, part number AA94-08574A, or the STR type regulator IC, part number AA13-00105A. If you locate the convergence board, unplug the connectors, and see if the set will come on. if the set does come on, replace both of the STK convergence IC's at once. The part numbers for those IC's are STK392-40. You can get the original replacement IC's from MCM electronics for about 15 to 16 bucks a piece. Do not use the less expensive STK IC's as they are not the same. the replacement IC's should have the name of SANYO printed right on the face of the IC's. Good Luck
