Dear Sir/madam,

You have defective filter capacitor/s in the vertical circuit. Or defective solder connections on the pins of the vertical ic.
If you can bang it on the side & get the picture back up, then you probably have a bad connection in the vertical output circuit.
It should just require resoldering the printed circuit board & I would guess right at the output I.C.. Replace the IC with authorized service centre.

Good luck

Hi, my ikon 42' TV now has no picture or sound and the green light is flashing.

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like, to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

You might wish to unplug the TV for an hour or more. If this power reset does not allow the TV to turn on component failure is indicated. These sets are assembled using the wave soldering process they are known for having cold solder connections.

The safety circuitry shuts the TV set down or will keep it from turning on when it detects a problem. This model of TV has over 2,000 parts, which includes millions of transistors inside the integrated circuits. The capacitors will change value, leak and become defective. Resistors will change value and burn. Diodes and IC can go bad.

This may have a domino effect and cause other parts to fail. Replacing one defective part may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again if the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced.

The only way to know for sure which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for a proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment specifically designed for TV service and the skills to use the test equipment. I wish I could tell you there was a quick fix or button to push that would fix the TV but that is not the case or the solution needed to get the TV operating correctly.

Good luck in solving the problem..

Show horizontal line.i replaced the ic checked all resistance & fuses but still fault is there

good day sir
if you already replace a new vertical I.C. there's a problem with the supply of your I.C. 24v dc.
I give you some steps for D.I.Y. troubleshooting
first, remove the cover of your TV loosening all screw at the back
secondly, look for the part number of the vertical I.C
thirdly, click this site to identify the pin connection of the I.C to determine the supply.
next, type the part number of I.C.then go down and click the view P.D.F...after that, click download to view... adobe reader is needed to download and see files.its free
fourthly, after you see the pin configuration, check the supply voltage of I.C 24vdc..if the supply is too low or totally dead, check the print line of PCB to find where the supply came from its usually found on secondary of fly-back..check all resistor and diode near to the secondary of fly-back
and finally if done all process replace a new spare parts if you found the defective one
thank you and good luck

When plugged in, the logo flashes white. Everything else is dead. Checked 5v, 12v, 24v outputs on power supply--only the 5v showed power.Power board looks good otherwise bulging capacitors or burn...

Video all white and have sound or not. This causes and the problems it is the tv Tuner signal board is dead. That the board, where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Tries websites like, to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement. This problems.I fix it many times, know exactly witch IC is dead.It is the Mosfat IC regulators power for the main Tuner board. This IC is surface mounted component and very sensitive to heat and static electricity. It take me a month to scope and troubleshooting to find that out, take me forever to even to order of the Mosfat IC and convince the manufacture even to be willing sell it to me under 5 pieces of Mosfat ICS even,if they even willing to sell it to me or anybody. They only sell in bulk like in the hundred at a time.

When first turned on the TV works normally - then the picture disappears and there's nothing but snow. Change channel and the picture appears momentarily and then snow...

Good day sir/maam, the trouble is caused (possibly) by the failure of the IF amplifier system of your TV, it is usually sets of transistors, or an IC that controls the gain of your TV. Have your service repair man check the section fro the tuner stage to the IF stages. chances are the IC is not functioning properly. Hope this helps.

Same problem with mine

Based on what you have described, you have lost the power supply or main board. Unplug unit, carefully lay it of the front side, pull about 10-20 screws out of the back, look at the electronic boards, if you know what caps are, run your finger across the top of the caps,if they are swelled up, then that board is bad. Those boards go for 150.00 to 500.00 each.
