Hi, Having a problem with one of my Pioneer cdj 1000s. The play button and the eject button are the only functions that work. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

To perform a hard reset on a Pioneer CDJ-400, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the CDJ-400 by pressing the power button located on the front of the unit.
2. While holding down the Eject button (located on the top left of the CDJ-400), turn on the power switch.
3. Continue holding the Eject button until the display shows "PIONEER CDJ-400."
4. Release the Eject button.
5. Press and hold the Track Search Forward (">>") button and the Track Search Backward ("<<") button simultaneously.
6. Keep holding these buttons until the message "Resetting All Data" appears on the display.
7. Release the Track Search buttons.
8. The CDJ-400 will perform the hard reset and return to its factory default settings. This process may take a few moments.
9. Once the reset is complete, the CDJ-400 will restart.
Please note that performing a hard reset will erase any custom settings or saved data on the CDJ-400. Use this option with caution and make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.
Sometimes so CD does not play in certain CDJ, i have 2 or 3 disc which does not play or eject when i try to play in CDJ 100s but when i play them in another player they go well.
Pls try to have some other brand disc or you may clean compartment of the CDJ their may be dirt inside CDJ. I hope this will help.
There should be a pin on the bottom of the cdj, this is the push pin that will manually release the cd inside. BE CAREFUL!. This will work much like the pinholes in cd trays on computers. Just push it in to release the jammed cd. This may not work, and is only a suggestion. If this does not work, I'd attempt to contact Pioneer directly for a service request. Hope this helps!
Either switch is about to go bad, or the plastic activator underneath the eject button, which activates the switch is worn.
You can open it up to look, but I would suggest professional repair for something like this. If the electronic switch is bad, it will need to be replaced, and un-soldered from it's board.
just read about your issue with the gemini's 02, have had the same ones since december 06, and have had the same problems as you, mainly my 'play' buttons that broke down into the machine.
The first time I had it repaird by the shop I bought them at, after that had several times where the paly button broke into the machine. What I do now is to open the player by unscrewing the screws and it 'tape' the button where it should be.
The tricky thing is that when opening the player, there's like a sound card on top of the buttons, so you need to get that tape in between the card and the button, I learned to do this with a tweaser;
Having said that, I will also tell you that I've had it with this gemini hassle and that I will move to pioneer soon;
