I have just experienced this problem with e 32Gb ScanDisk card. Every 40 seconds it dismounts with "The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off." and the automatically remounts itself. The card was formatted in my Canon camera and works fine, I also can read the files with iPhoto from the camera, however with a LogiLink card reader it has the above described problem on my MacBoook Pro with MountainLion OS. Its about time Apple that you researched and found a solution!!!! Hans Steller
Hello, That message normallymeans your flash drive has failed or the files structure cannot be read byWindows.
You can try it on another computer, and see if it works.
Re-formatting may restore the file structure so it can be used again, but youwill loose the data on the flash drive.
IF!!! you do have to format and that works you can use a file recovery programlike recuva HERE: http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva...to hopefully retrieve the lost files.
ORTHINK YOUR COMPUTER VIRUSAFFECTED .TRY TO BE SURE FOLLOW THESE IF CAN NOT SHOWHIDDEN FILE (TOOLS >FOLDER OPTION >VIEW> CHECK ON SHOW HIDDENFILE>CHECK OFF HIDE PROTECTED AND CHECK OFF HIDE EXTENSION) RUN >TYPE> MSCONFIG > ENTER =CAN NOT OPEN MS CONFIG) RUN > TYPE> REGEDIT>ENTER =CAN NOT OPEN REGISTRY RUN > TYPE >GPEDIT.MSC> ENTER =CAN NOT OPEN GROUP EDIT POLICY

HOPE IT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM
try connecting it t different computers. if it reacts the same. well im sorry i think your 4gb sandisk flashdrive is damaged. and im sorry to tell you if that so, there is no way u can get your files back.
Even though you may hear the motor turning in your external drive the drive may not be able to read the information on the platter(s) because the arm isn't working. This cannot be fixed; you'll have to buy another external drive. There are services that can retrieve the data on the broken drive. Google "data recovery services" and prepare to spend big bucks.
hi, can i anwer this.... pls try using your scandisk again and right click on it then go to properties... inside the properties of your disk you can see a three options you can see there: general, and the two others... just explore on it...
or... if the files inside your disk is not very important / or even it is important as long as you have some back up copy of the said files... all you have to do is... right click you disk and find " format "... you have to reformat your disk in order for you to use it again... thank you very much...
I had the same problem once upon a time with a PNY CF card about 4years ago after I photographed an entire football game for an article Iwas doing. Everything I did kept telling me that the card was corruptedand I never could retrieve the photos. Someone told me to use a better card so I have never used a PNY cardagain and consequently have never had the problem again. Stay with SanDisk Extreme or whatever high end card you can find and you'll be much happier.
I know this is the "Close-the-barn-door" approach to not losing thehorses after they have already escaped but I have a possible solutionto rescuing your photos trapped on the card if nothing else works. Lookfor a card retrieval program on the internet. There are free ones andthere are pay ones. Free is worth nothing and the others are worth morebut start with free if you can find one. The one I used was atcardrecovery.com (which wasn't free) and supposedly can even pull photosfrom damaged cards as well. I accidentally formatted a card beforegetting the photos off and the program retrieved all of those plus manyothers that were previuosly on it, all 39,000 of them, and it was onlya 4 GB card on a 8 MB camera! I think it was around $60 for the pay version but it justdepends on how valuable your photos are to you on that card. If yourinterested here's the link:
