Question about Samsung SGH-d407 Cellular Phone
-Turns on via the normal power button
-Boots up, and from there, refuses any input from sidekeys OR the normal full keypad. The only way to shut it off seems to be to remove the battery.
-When I open the phone, the screen and keypad light up, but no matter what I press, eventually go back to sleep as if I weren't pressing anything.
-When I get a call, I can open the phone and talk to the person, but I can't terminate it with the 'end call' button, or do anything with any other buttons, for that matter.
I'd think it's a hardware problem with the keypad, except that I can power it on with the normal red power button. I'm thinking maybe it's a firmware problem; is there any way to hard reset it? I've tried removing the battery for several minutes, with no change.
Had the same problem and fixed it this way removed the battery and sim card. Put the battery back in and turned the phone on. You get a message "Insert Sim card". Remove the battery and insert the sim card. This resolved it for me

Check your volume keys or any side keys that get stuck... or if you can open your fone check its keypad for any shortage...
