I have the following problem with my NEC SuperScript 860
(laser): it used to work very well under Windows 3.1; under
Windows 95 it only works properly immediately after
installing the driver: after rebooting though, a Wizard
starts automatically to complete the installation (as if
the previous installation was not complete in some obscure
sense); anyway it does not recognize the driver in the cd-rom
(nor in the diskette). So I leave the Wizard, but then the
machine only prints the first few lines in the page and then
the red LED ("error") blinks. I gather it must be some sort
conflict with other drivers (I have a sound card, a cd-rom
and a modem), but I have no idea how to deal with this.
Please help me,
Domenico Carlesi

Are you using the current drivers from the NEC website? I recently
upgraded an old box to WIN95 and the printer works flawlessley-- actually
better under '95 than WIN3.x because you don't have to mess with the
printer setup program nearly as often when changing paper, etc. I really
like the 860 and found it was less than no problem to install.
Check the www.nec.com site and make sure you have current drivers. Beyond
that, I don't know what to offer as I haven't had any trouble.
