Re: IP Address

If you click on your "start" button and then on the "run" choice you will be able to type in a command to see your IP address. The command is, ipconfig, a window will appear telling you what the machines IP address is.  Is that what you meant?

On of my inspiron mini's lost its net work connection and ip address, it wont connect to the internet

Open a command prompt:
Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt

Once in there, type this exactly without the quotes "ipconfig /release"

your ip address will come up

Now at the blinking cursor type in exactly without the quotes "ipconfig /renew"

Now you should have an IP of, or or even something different depending on your network.

If you come up with an address of, You' should restart the modem and the router. To do that first power off the router, then the modem. turn them back on in reverse order.

You should be able to connect after that.

Hope this helps

I was lost lenovo laptop, is there any chance to find by tracing ip address?

Unfortunately not as the IP address will by dynamic and change each time it accesses the internet. The only constant would be the machines MAC address as this is unique for each device. However I do not believe it is possible to trace this. Hope this helps,

Where i find my IP notebook number my notebook is lost or stolen and some told me that I can find it again with the IP number, is it true?

the IP address is specific to the internet connection, it has nothing to do with what you are looking for. you should search for the MAC address which is tied to your network card (you can find your MAC address on the box which came with your laptop or on the documentation) but it's pretty useless.Good luck anyway.

No internet or ip adrdress

Check you have Network Adapter in your Network Connection Setting.if it is there then all you need to do is to set IP address,Subnet mask, dafault Gateway,Preferred DNS Address and Alternate Address.

But if it is missing then you need to reinstalll your Network Adapter Driver. The problem might have occur as you restore your system to a point when Network driver was not install.

Anyway, you don't have the driver, download it from the link below

Just Select your Operating System and download the Network Controller Driver and Install.

And assigned your IP address,Subnet mask, dafault Gateway,Preferred DNS Address and Alternate Address so that you can connect to internet.

Lost ip address so can't connect to wireless

If you are able to connect to the router via Ethernet cable, connect, go to the gateway ip address and you can retrive the IP address info from the routers configuration page.

Good Luck.

No wireless connection on acer one notebook

1. Try unplugging the wireless router for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.

2. If that does not resolve the issue go to My Network Places, Right Click, Properties ... on the icon that represents the wireless connection, right click, select Disable, once the device is disabled, right click again and Enable.

The second set of instructions are assuming you have Windows XP

Your IP address does not belong to the Acer, but it does belong to you,as per your internet provider agreement(with you.)This addres may be static(stays the same) or dynamic(changes each time you get on line) Good Luck

Wi-Fi not connecting on Toshiba Satellite A15-S157 PC Notebook

you tried giving it a static IP address rather than using automatic settings (i.e. DHCP). Sure enough, this cured the problem, connected fine. I looked in the dhcp server logs and while it was not complaining that the IP address pool was all used, it did seem that all the IP addresses available were being used. I increased the number of IP addresses available to be allocated by the dhcp server and problem solved. The big mystery to me is why Windows XP would report this as a problem with a weak signal? Isn't the access to the dhcp server and the allocation of the IP address at a layer above the wireless connection? Anyway, it's useful to be warned that the wireless diagnostics are misleading.

Wrong ip address

Are you trying to get an IP for your computer, or for your modem? Assuming your using a high-speed connection, possibly a router?
