I'm working on a Nuova Simonelli Mac 2000 V machine. It's pretty old and sad looking..but for the most part everything seems to be in decent working order. The steam wands both work great, and I'm able to extract water, but my shots are pulling at 6 seconds. I make the grounds finer...and still they stay at 6 seconds. Is it possible the water is getting pushed through too quickly? How would I change this?

I have the same machine. I just went on the coffee geeks website and it is easily solved. Just add a few grains of salt to the reservoir - the sensor cant detect water that is purified - strange but true as four grains and it fired up just like that.

Either the brew solenoid is bad or the shower screen is blocked or the metering jet on the top of the head is clogged.

The metering jet on the top of the boiler is blocked.

Do not remove the water reservoir from the machine...the sensor is very sensitive. Leave it in and just fill it with tap water.
