This could be the defrost timer or the defrost heater coil... The evaporator coils are located at the back of the freezer compartment. To access you will need to remove all the racks and then there is a cover held on by a few screws at the back of freezer and under it you will see the coils... Do not beat bang or scrape them... Use a hair dryer or heat gun to melt ice or you could just use hot water . Put your model #.JCB2388GTB into searspartsdirect.com and they will show parts diagrams.
If I can help with anything else please let me know.

How old is "OLDER" ? If there is no frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer you could have one of two problems. On older units the compressor wears out with years of service and no longer pumps efficiently. Or it could possibly be low on refrigerant charge. ether one of these two problems is a sign that is time to update to new unit.
If you have frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer section you then would have a problem in the defrost circuit attributed to the timer, defrost heaters or defrost thermostat.

sounds like your fridge is iced up.To cheak this you will need to remove rear panel in freezer compartment and cheak if there is ice buld up.If so you may need a defrost timer or your drain tube may be plugged..If those are fine cheak if your defrost thermostat is ok and not split.Hope this helped:)
