Dvd error code 31 00 (not 13 00)

The dvd player shows error code 31 00 after it says please wait.  This problem has been slowly getting worse, the past couple of weeks it cleared when i turned it on and off a couple of times.  Now it won't go past the error.  Thanks

About the dvd error code C 31 00. I just found out and fixed the problem. You must open the top of the machine and move the white moving finger that picks the dvd/cd slot back into its origional place. Via a slot on the left side of the cd compartment about an inch in. The it will then properly pick the dvd/cd that you wish. You must also open each dvd/cd drive again so that your machine will know there is something in it. YOU ARE WELCOME

how do you get the plastic cover off? I guess it's a dust cover. I don't see any slot?

No offense, but that's really not that helpful. The top dust cover comes off on mine by removing several screws on the rear and sides first, then one on the bottom. After engaging the lever that releases the disc, that only allows you to retrieve the disc that particular time, not a long term fix. Solving the long term problem is the part yet to be determined. My receiver miraculously works perfectly with no codes once I remove the dust cover, so I just set it on top. I'll eventually replace it with a samsung or toshiba since those are the only brands that have not let me down.

Dmr-ex85 shows u81 code and is not functioning at all, says please wait but eventually just goes onto error code. no buttons will function?

Physically unplug power from the unit for a minute or two.
Connect power cord to unit and Simultaneously Press & Hold
both the [STOP] and Channel UP [^] for 5 seconds. This will
force Eject the DVD tray. Remove any disc if present.
Cycle the power again if necessary and wait for the unit to
go through its self check cycle. If after several attempts, and
you continue to get this error, then your Ram drive may need
to be replaced.

Polaroid portable DVD player error code ''bad disc''

You'd need to open the unit, and the problem is either that the laser and the tray are misaligned, which can be tricky to fix even, or worse, you need a new laser. Either way, the Polaroid dvd player may not be worth getting repaired if it is no longer under warranty.

Good luck!!

WRONG Region error . Philips DVD65K

Each DVD player is designed only to read discs froma certian region of the globe, and they are labelled 1 through 6 (or ALL). Australian players are designed only to play Region 4 discs. United States discs are Region 1. It is illegal to change the Region code on a DVD player, so I can't tell you how to do it (ironically, it is the most frequently asked question about dvd players on Fixya.com - global world), but there are videos on YouTube that will show you how to do it - I would just enter "philips region code dvd" as your seacrh term. You won't find that exact model, but one of the codes in the video should work. Note that you will only be able to change the region code three times on a Philips - after that you will be locked out. So change it to Region 1 once, and never change it again.

Regional code

1) Turn the DVDR3590H on, with no DVD in the drive
2) press HOME, so the browser appears
3) press PLAY/PAUSE. The display on the machine should say "BROWSER"
4) Slowly enter the following code: 159121212005255 (the numbers should appear on the display)
5) press PLAY/PAUSE.
6) Turn the player off

You might have to try it several times before the numbers will appear in the display panel. Don't enter the numbers too slowly either.

My dvd always shows "system error" and won't play commercial copyright dvds, only recorded ones.

I had the same problem with my recorder except that it wouldnt play any discs at all.. I finally unplugged the recorder and left it unplugged for 16 hours. Now it is fine. I am not getting any error messages.
