Problem for Motorola Cordless Phone

People on speakerphone base cant hear me

when I use the base speakerphone on model SD4580 people say they can't hear me very well. is there a way to increase my voice volume on the base so they can hear me better? I can heat them fine from the speaker and the handset works fine. where is the microphone located on the base?
