When i try to scan a pic. nothing happens, but a window comes up Lexmark 1200 series all in one center saying scan was not successful. power light is on, i checked usb cable, i restarted my computer. it worked the other day when i installed my Lexmark all in one,but today nothing.when i try to print a document it says communication not available, but it shows up under my printers and faxes icon, and it is under my add & remove in the control panel. what should i do.

Install the Lexmark Software from the disk. For Lexmark, this has always been a requirement in order to get all of the necessary drivers, functions, and printer communication from a PC to the Printer. Depending on the Operating System you are using (Vista may still have another issue that I can walk ya through if it doesn't print) Vista may have a slight prob with printing, XP shouldn't. Let me know.

To scan, start the All-In-One Center application from the Lexmark 1200 Series folder in the Windows Start menu.
There is a scan Tab there that should give you what you need. If you want more details, the manual is online at...

There should be an icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of your screen). It is white with different color blocks on it. If you hold your mouse pointer over it it says something like "Lexmark Imaging Studio". Right click on it and choose "Lexmark 1200 Series All-In-One Center". This will start the scanning application.
Yes there are drivers for the Lexmark 1200 series available on the Lexmark.com Website. If you upgraded your PC to Vista or installed the drivers from CD you should uninstall the printer drivers and download and install the Vista drivers .
I purchased a lexmark 1200 series all in one printer and cannot locate the cd that came with it. Is there a way to install it without the cd? I tried but it says can't find hardware.
