One some laptops you need to enable the video/vga port (where you plug the monitor in). On a Dell, you'd press function (Fn key) and F8 - this will activate the additional video out port. If you keep pressing that combination, you'll get one, the other, or both working in sequence.

Does the LG Flatron W1952TQ Monitor have a reset button on it? Because it was working and now nothing. Monitor won't come on

Hello,

The most common cause of power loss on the W1952TQ is a failure of the filter capacitors on the power supply board. This is the same board used in several of the LG monitors including the W2252. You can repair the monitor by replacing the capacitors on the board. Here is a link to a repair kit with the correct capacitors to rebuild the power board.

Monitor automatically clicks into power saving mode

Laptops often have a function key which switches from laptop only, external monitor only, laptop & external. One of the top number keys, along with the function (fn for short) must be pressed simultaneously to step through these.

Where these keys are at, may differ from laptop to laptop.

your LG monitor is bad then if you put another monitor on the computer and your getting video. Just as a last resort, you might want to put the LG monitor on another computer and if it stays in sleep mode then you know for sure at that point, the monitor is bad.

My LG flatiron W1943TB turns on, says analog power saving mode, goes black and then the power button flashes.. but the monitor is hooked up to my dell notebook bc my LCD died

Hi erin mckinle,
That is probably it's, uh, analog power saving mode. When the screen goes black and the power button flashes, make some mouse gestures or hit some keys that would not affect anything (try spacebar). That should bring up the screen. If you think it goes into power saving mode too fast, go to Control Panel --> Power Options, and change the values. Hope this helps.

Power saving mode

What brand is your laptop? Sometimes you have to manually switch between your laptop and an external monitor. Usually pressing the "CTRL" button and "F5" might work to switch the signal from laptop external.
