Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Sandisk e260 My Sandisk will stay connected to the computer until i try to add tracks. It will download one or two songs before it fails and disconnects from the computer. It also will not let me reformat. Although when the mp3 player is not connected to the computer it runs great. what do you think is happening?

Re: Sandisk e260

Sounds like some data may be corrupt.

This will wipe it clean and you can start over.

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

I dont have sandisk driver for my sansa E260..i cant transfer songs..

Sansa Not Recognized: Try connecting it to the back of your computer or another computer the back straight to the motherboard this should be USB 2.0 and see if it will recognize it as sansa or Drive/removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansas firmware and add the Usb Mode. Try to connect it to your computer at home it should recognize.... link for update software ( download to a flash drive much easier. Make sure USB mode is MSC
Recovery Mode may also allow your computer to recognize the sansa
lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer Start the update software when finished disconnect.... Sync to upload songs to the sansa......Hope this works

E-260 freezes when computer is trying to read it in Rhapsody program

I read some of the other post and found that I needed to use Windows Media Player. I had the Rhapsody program on my computer as well. Once I downloaded Windows Media Player I was able to access the files and add and delete songs.

My husband is not a big fan of Media Player. Lets hope I haven't done anything that he will have to fix. :)

Good Luck.

Sansa 4GB mp3 player

corrupt database

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out:
