My sister gave me a 256mb SanDisk card that previously was used with her digital camera ... when card is inserted in Lyra, I can put songs on the card and the Lyra counts the files as tracks in the track total that appears when you first turn it on, but after that it doesn't play any of the songs on the card, and then gets stuck playing the last track (not on card, on Lyra) ... for example, if there's 34 tracks on the Lyra and 20 on the SanDisk card, the Lyra counts 54 tracks, but gets stuck playing Track 34 ...

I don't know if maybe I'm supposed to format the SanDisk card or something (I haven't found a way to do that) ... not sure what to do.

i cant use any removable disks

  • Anonymous Mar 26, 2014

I used to insert a 2GB Kingston SD Card to this device and it worked for at least 3 years. now it refuses to power on if the card is installed. connected the player to the computer and not only the card is accesible but I can add and remove files in it using the lyra as a card reade. If I umplug it from the computer it cannot be used unless I remove the card. I tried other cards with lesser capacities and could not use them. Any help?

When RCA first came out with the Lyra series the only way to get musicwill not read the sandisk card - 1.gif onto the device was by using musicmatch jukebox that would convert your mp31.gif file to mpy before downloading it to the device. But now RCA has come out with a new firm ware update for these mp3 players that improved the players playback quality plus enabled it to use .WMA files. so first go to RCA support http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/select.aspx?u=downloads and find your player and download the firmware and drivers (if needed) upgrade and install to your player its very easy and instructions are at the same site. You can now convert your music to .wma or use the free Real player that will convert mp3 to wma1.gif at the kbps that you request before loading it on. If your music is all ready in wma format you can use windows media player to send the files to your player. One last thing the .wma files that you put on your Lyra player need to be at least 128kbps or higher enhanced playback quality of wma files (160 kbps to 256 kbps).

Hello I cannot delete or add any music to my LYRA. I tried to format my LYRA...

One of the typical problems people run into with MP3 players is that they lose the software that came with the player and can't figure out how to get music on or off the player. So here's a quick how to. This will work with most brands of MP3 players, or even USB flash drives.

First you need to plug it in to the USB port, if you are running anything newer than windows 98 you won't need a driver. Double click on my computer and it shows up as a removable disc(usually drive letter f:), double click this drive to open it as folder. This folder will show you all directory's and files on your player, here you can delete any songs on your player by finding the file and deleteing it. From here you can also put your music onto the player by copying and pasting your music files from your hard drive. If you are not sure where your music is located you can run a search by clicking START>SEARCH>FOR FILES OR FOLDERS (if you are running XP click pictures music or video, check music then click search, each file will have it's location in small print below it's name, or you can right click each song and hit copy, then go back to f: drive and right click and hit paste, you can copy more than one). Hope this helps.

I HAVE BOUGHT A SANDISK 4GB MICRO SD HC CARD

What phone? Check user manual of phone to see if the music has to be in a certain folder on the card. Try reformating the card.

Micro sd card not working

I'm having the same problem with a Transcend 4GB microSDHC card / microSD adapter. I have also found it probably has something to do with the card reader...either the card reader is an SD card reader trying to read an SDHC card OR the card reader is not able to read high-gigabyte SD cards (over 1 GB in some cases).

Rca lyra won't read memory card

WMA files come in two formats DRM & non-DRM. Change your setting in Windows media player (Options - Copy Music) and re-rip the music CD. You can copy both versions but one will play but not the other.

Hi shadow5991,

have you tried the Sandisk website? It has a forum that contains a lot of information. Your answer may be awaiting you in the forum.

To me it sound like a configuration problem. It's looking for files on it's internal memory and maybe you've put them on a SD media card? When plugged into the PC it does perhaps it reads all sources?

Regards,

Can,t get any music on my mp3

I copyed the below from one of my earlier posts, read the bottom. Good Luck Over a period of time your info can get corrupt from transering music back and forth. To format plug it in to usb. Go to my computer It shows up as a removably disc, usually drive f: Right click on drive f: (or the approriate drive) and click format. Let me know what happens, you will have reload the player, also try bypassing the software you are using to tranfer, by opening up drive f: and clicking and dragging your music into it , or you can copy and paste it into drive f: L8R
