KODAK EASYSHARE V530 TUNRS ON THEN TURNS OFF

This also happens when the battery is discharged. Please check for battery and whether it has been charged.

The error code indicates that there is a stuck lens issue.

Check to see if any foriegn matter...i.e. dirt, has gotten into where the zoom lens opens out at. That is more than likely the point that is causing this error.

Make sure batteries are NEW! Even half-way dead batteries will have negative actions on camera. Also if you have a memory card, try removing it and see if your camera act normal now. Some memory cards have different impact on digital cameras.
Kodak will fix any camera for $40.

This condition is normally the result of weak or worn out batteries. Remove the batteries and make sure that the battery and camera contacts are clean and free of corrosion. If using alkaline batteries, replace them. If using rechargeable batteries, charge them for several hours and then try them again. If the charge doesn't work, you may need to replace the batteries. eBay is a good source for reasonably- priced camera batteries.

Same problem, have an M883 although this seems to be an issue with older models as well.  Something defective I am assuming.  I have taken proper care of my camera (storing it in the case, ensuring no liquid touches it, etc.) I plan to call them in the morning.  

Kodak easyshare V530 camera turns on then straight back off again bought a new battery but still does the same. Lens goes out a bit but then straight back again.

My camera has the same problem. How could Kodak get away with that? Kodak V530 is a piece of garbage. I called Kodak's customer service. They offered repair for only $110. It is ridiculous, why we have to pay for manufactured defect? Take a look at the Kodak V530 on eBay. There are a lot of defective V530 up for sale. The government should review this E45 error lens issue, and have them take care of that. Or we should never buy Kodak again!!!!
