Question about Dell TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Router (tm23003)

1 Answer

Access Problems I work at home and need to access various web sites -- my computers all have trouble loading the pages and I have to hit refresh again and again.  My ISP said it's my wireless router and I think that that is the problem because plugging directly into my Zycel router the problem goes away.  My Dell True Mobile wireless router is four years old and I have a new laptop that I use the wireless router with.

You may reset the router to factory settings. but it will lose all prev settings on your router. make sure, if you have any special configuration before you reset the device, so you can re-configure it back.

How to reset?
At the back of  your router, you can see Reset button or tiny pin hole which would be labeled as RESET.  hold that reset for 10secs. you may use paper clip or pen or pencil to hold reset.

Streaming Media and Automatic Refresh

While this feature can be useful to the webmaster, it is often annoying to the average web surfer who prefers a page to load more quickly.
What this does for a webpage is allow it to refresh content if you say, happen to be on a news site, or are checking the Stock market ETC.

But for those who like viewing streaming media, it can drive a person absolutely crazy with excessive commercials.

So here is how you can deal with it (In Firefox anyway)

The automatically refresh web pages feature can be annoying and irritating, can be disorienting due to sudden replacement of content, and probably a waste of bandwidth although some frequently and constantly updated content does deserve to be able to refresh automatically. If you’re not one who is in favor of web pages automatically refreshing, it’s possible to disable, block and prevent web pages from auto refreshing in Firefox.
How to Stop and Block web pages from Auto Refresh or Reload in Firefox
In Firefox, go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Accessibility section, and then tick the check box labeled as Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page.
Checking the option is equivalent to setting accessibility.block autorefresh preference setting in about:config to True.

How to unblock the facebook

It's probably your employer (or your school's headmaster) who has blocked access from their computers to various time-wasting sites, e.g., YouTube and FaceBook.

If you try to access, you could be in violation of your employer/school policies, and could get yourself into a lot of trouble.

Am I paying for this already? I need to know how to turn on my wireless on my IBM T42 so I can access the internet and connect to my home network...please advise...

Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link :-
You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder.
Then you need to connect to a wireless router which is connected to your Internet Service Provider. The wireless card in the Thinkpad needs to be configured with the wireless router's settings (ie SSID, WAP or WEP encryption etc) for the wireless card to communicate with the wireless router.

Cannot access my yahoo mail account

Try clicking on the refresh button each time or next time it happens.. If you are you are using Enternet Explorer Version 7.0 5730.11. Then your likely problems are there. I found it happening to me a bit but found it come right when I hit the green arrow tab(refresh button) I could see the page again. I think if I remember rightly at some stage Microsoft said it was a fault of the site you are perusing. Mainly if they had not updated to the new Explorer. That could be why you were experiencing the difficulties in viewing the page. You changed from one broadband to another that dont support the lattest software.
