Hello, It sounds like you have a capacitor problem. It was about two years ago that some bad capacitors from china was purchased by several of the big monitor manufactures. These capacitors almost like clockwork start swelling after the monitor is about a year to a year in half old. The biggest manufacturer that this happened to was Gateway and you can do a Google search on just about any (FPD2185W Gateway Capacitor Problem) and the internet is full of unhappy people. They were not the only ones that purchased these bad capacitors. There are alot of how to guides on replacing them yourself if you have a little mechanical knowledge and a soldering iron. You can also find several guys on e-bay selling the power inverters with new caps or offering to fix yours. Just go to e-bay and type in Power Inverter for monitors and you will see. If this is your problem the monitor will get worse. They start not powering up after you restart the computer. But the power button will still be lit up. Then after a while it will finnaly come on. I hope this info helps at least point you in the right direction for research.

Have a great weekend

Lg2234s monitor goes of blinking...cant turn monitor off (blue light remains off) then monitor turns on ..screen pic returns but is totally green, the OSD becomes garbled, if set to return to default then...

emale36, Could be problem with the "switch-mode-power-supply" inside the unit. If dc voltage rail is noisey or marginally on the low side of rated specification then strange things will start to occur on screen. Contact LG (Lucky-Goldstar) if unit is covered by warranty. The unit will need to be evaluated by technician. Visit YOUTUBE to see video clips of monitore being repaired by their owners. Read more of my profile responses to other LCD owners. 12fixlouie

Black screen and a blinking green led..

Have you tried booting the machine into safe mode? turn off the pc and try inserting a rescue boot disc to see if it will go that route.

LG 700E monitor's power LED blinking continueously, no display

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Syncmaster 2232gw led blinking.

Change the screen resolution. The video card or video display may not be compatible to the supported video setting of the monitor. Try changing the video resolution to a lower setting such as 1024x768 and bit depth to 32 bit.

Monitor goes blank after 5-10 minutes

You may have a compatibility issue with your monitor. You computer may not be putting out enough power to support your monitor. Check your users manual on your monitor for output requirements. If the monitor's manual has a number to call, call the manufacturer to see if there are any compatibility problems between your computer and your monitor and calling the people who built your computer as well. Get as many scenarios as you can to find a solution. Hoped this helped.
