Kenmore microwave Model #"721 8924681" "L" in lower corner

For some reason an "L" appears in the lower left corner of the LCD and the oven will not heat. If you unplug it for a short time then plug it back in it works fine but before long the "L" appears again.

That sounds like a code for "lock". It may be a failing keypad.

Your model number is not showing up. Is that correct, or is it a non-US model?

FrFMB136G1Bigidair model numbers

Hi Friend, thank you for your post!

I see that you have a Frigidaire microwave, FRFMB136G1; however, it appears that your model number is invalid. You can typically locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the front of the oven, in the lower left corner as you open the door. Are you seeking an Owner's Guide or is your microwave experiencing an issue? Please describe what your appliance is doing so that I can assist you better in pinpointing the problem. Thank you! - Z

Our microwave is buzzing load and there is a little flashing microwave in the lower left corner of the display any idea what is going on model MMV4205BAW ser 14597479LP

There are three things that will cause this, the magnetron "common problem" or the high voltage capacitor or diode. The above mentioned work together to heat the food and depending on the nature of the repair, parts and labor can approach the price of a new unit.

The model numbers on most Kenmore ranges will be located on a nameplate along the oven door, or lower drawer opening. Some models may have this information on the back of the operator console.

If this question is in reference to a microwave oven, the model number will be located along the oven door opening, or inside the oven cavity along the upper portion on either the left or right hand side.

If you need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

The microwave model is Kenmore 721.62464201. It's arcing.

This is usually caused by grease or food debris.

First these areas
should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner on a soft cloth. You can use a grille brush if it's stubborn.

Any metal chipped or charred metal will have to be sanded smooth and clean.

Then you should apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart or Lowe's.

You can find handy exploded views and order any needed parts at the Sears Parts Site.

Kenmore Microwave door adjustment

Depends on the door. It likely can be adjusted they have 2 screws on the door bracket you may have to remove the cover to see them. But it also needs to be checked with a leakage meter to make sure its not leaking.

RadioShack used to make a low cost meter not certified or anything but a good way to see if its leaking.

Kenmore model 911.4942993 microwave does not defrost or heat. All keyboard functions appear to be normal. Are there onboard diagnostics for this model? This unit is part of a built-in oven with microwave,...

This was my first microwave oven repair, and I feared the worst - big $$$'s, parts no longer available, etc. But after I pulled the unit forward and found the schematic diagram, it turned out to be a defective microswitch in the secondary door latch circuit.
Even in retirement, my degrees in electronics and computer science occasionally save me some $$$'s.
