If you were able to take out the main cover, place the printer backwards and you will see the fuser unit (where the red rod is installed. Remove the 4 screws at the fuser corners and it will come out easily. You should be able to take out the papers more comfortably.

I have a Dell 1320c printer and there is a part that I need to replace but I have n idea what it is called. When you open the front it is on the very top. It is the last roller the paper goes through

the last set of rollers are fuser rollers you have a heat roller and a pressure roller the pressure roller is made of rubber and the heat roller is made of aluminium.from the your question im guessing that the paper is wrapped around the heat roller. if this roller has scratches in the serface it does need replacingalso if the pressure roller is damaged it also will cause a papetr jam.
also you should check that all of the picker fingers are all in place and clean.

I recently aquired a HP psc 2410 all in one printer. Upon start up I got an error msg that the cartridges are jammed, unjam and press ok. Well there doesnt appear to be a jam. The cartridges slide back and...

There is little or no value in older printers.
However the unit has gots its positioning confused.
Try switching off and on printer several time, opening lid for cartridge change to see if it can synch itself again.

Embedded paper jam!

I removed the ink drum and the jammed paper came out with it.

Paper light flashing

What worked for me was to clean the drumunit; take the toner out of the drum unit and clean between the plastic housing and the drum. Dust heaps up and presumably makes the toner rotate more difficult.
I just used a piece of folded paper and blew the rest out..

Paper wrapped around the red roller

lift the cover remove all the cartridges and the drum unit slowly and carefully and slightly pull the upper side of the paper not the lowerside and if it is rolled completely you have to open the heater unit to remove if you donot have any technical knowledge do not try because the red roll you are taking is a costly thing, call the service technician and get it repaired that would be more cheaper.

Paper jam

I had this problem the other day. I turned out that I had a small bit of polystyrene foam had got trapped just before the white plastic rollers you can see in front of the toner sponge where the cartridge head runs when you lift the lid to change ink.

I discovered it by noting that on power-up these rollers turn as if to feed paper back into the paper feeder (i.e. "backwards through the printer"), so I tried to see if I could get a sheet to feed backwards and noticed something was trying to stop the right-hand side of the paper feeding in. Soon after I noticed the bit of foam through the right-hand side slot in the white plastic section above the roller. A quick removal with small tweezers et viola!

Paper is wrapped tight around a drum

Be very careful with this, as once you have opened the unit it may and often does void all warranties. Can you get to it by opening up the unit as if you are replacing ink, and go in this way? If not, all printers have to have a serviceable entry area, it may just be a be hard to locate.
