My laptop CD/DVD in built burner stopped working when I needed it most. The following message ' Windows Media player cannot copy files because CD recorder or burner cannot be detected' flagged up on the screen. It has always worked graciously in the past, efficiently and excellently until this sad day. Please help, how do I reset the device Dell D630 latitude.
Thanks

I had the same problem on my Sony Vaio and I found a free program called "CD Tray Pal" You just click on the desktop icon and it loads and windows recognizes your drive. Amazing, after a while, it fixed itself and I did not have to use it anymore! Hope this helps. http://www.e-systems.ro/ You should be able to find it on this site.
click start control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll to cd/dvd rom drives right click properties then properties again then tick enable cd digital cd audio for this cd rom device or scroll to dvd regions select the no _ for your specific area or
