OE Error We have LG dishwasher which gives an OE error. This was an error 6 months ago and this was under warranty. They had to change the pump. Now it is not under warranty. Our dishwasher also shows an OE error. We were told to check the drainage hose for clogging, twisting or freezing. We do not see anything wrong with the drainage hose. There is also an abnormal noise coming from the front left side.

Any suggestions?

I have the same dishwasher and the company has been out 5 times to fix. They have changed the pump twice. The OE has started again last night. I cannot find anything blocking the drain.

I guess I will be calling the company once again!!

Brand new dishwasher, Bought on Friday installed on Saturday and will not drain. Getting the dreaded DE or is it OE error code. LG is sending a technician out on Tuesday to check it out. Very frustrated at this point.

Yes, we also had this problem but fortunately purchased a three year extended warrantee when we bought it. Matt, poor Matt the technician came out SEVERAL times to work on it--twice had received broken parts from LG---replaced the pump and motor twice! We finally got store credit to buy a new machine----a Kitchen Aid this time---my LG washer/dryer and fridge are great but the more I research the more I find the dishwasher was a lemon for more than a few people. I also wonder if it is either a faulty sensor or something in the control board. My advice? With the money you spend on a machine like that, another 80.00 to 100.00 for an extended warrantee would be a wise move, viewing my own experience and now seeing that we were not the only ones to have so much trouble with this particular dishwasher!

Is it 'IE' ? There is no '1E' error code. Input error. Is water turned on? Are waterline filters clear, the ones between the hose and the unit?

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

Just purchased and installed the LG LDS4821 dishwasher, instantly got the OE error code when we tested it. After following troubleshooting tips and calling customer service, error code still not resolved....

Try a test cycle with the end of the drain hose placed into a bucket. If the dishwasher does not pump out then, call for warranty service (In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000). If the dishwaser does pump out into the bucket check the entrance of the drain. (if it is draining into a disposer, there is a knock out plug which has to be removed) By the way, that is not an OE error, it is actually a DE (drain error).

Your question is: Re-circulation pump was replaced under warranty after 7 months. Now there appears to be draining problems. hose not kinked and filter seems clear - I guess the pump is either broken or something has jammed it. Does anyone know how to get at it??? Warranty has expired and a new pump + fitting is gonna be expensive. Any tips?

If the motor runs but it won't empty then the pump needs replacement. If the unit washes but the motor won't come on to empty then you have a control problem. Either way I don't recomend this repair to the average homeowner. The unit must be removed to access the pump. You might consider utilizing our Repair Directory to find a repair man.

agreed O3 is not a LG error code. OE is more likely and if so it could be the main pcb faulty, a blocked drain pump or a blocked spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects onto.

I have had this dishwasher about 4 years, it has work beautifully, then one day there just wasn't any power going to it. Have tried different power points and no change. Looked for a fuse, was unable to find one. The power cord coming into the machine is undamaged. Any suggestions.

ok. our machine has done this for 6 months or so, it was ok for the 1st 6 months. i have checked and cleaned and unblocked and gone bloody crazy. today i found the fault and fixed quickly.

the installer stuffed up. the waster water hose must head up and be fixed just under your bench top, then come down hill to your exit/spiggot/drain attachment.

ours was just lying more or less at floor level coming up to the spiggot. so whenever the waste water pump switched off, water would run back into the machine, hence the OE error, and also dirty water with food would then get chucked around it what should have been a clean rinse.

a diagram of the waste water house and how it should be done is in the manual.

i just about blew $1500 on a new machine !!

LD-14AW1 keeps coming up with OE error code

Hello,
The most common cause of an OE error code on a modern LG dishwasher is:
1. Blocked drain hose
2. Obstruction in the sump area (beneath the filter, which needs to be removed to check for onstruction)
3. Failing drain motor.
else you need to REPLACE THE PCB POWER CONTROL BOARD

I have a LG model lds5811st dishwasher. The PCB Assembly Main board 6871DD1006FR is bad and was sent an replacement board 6871DD1006T. Two board color plug slots have been switched. Will this work? All the other plug in wires are in the same location and have the same color code, except two of them. They are next to each other. On the old board the white plug is on the top with a red plug below it. The wire harness plugs do not match as well. can I attach the wires per plug color and orientation? I plugged the wires into the new board with the correct color match on the sockets. I made sure that the plug in terminals were plugged in with the one way plug in to match the new board. I had to file off the protruding ridges that align the plug in to the sockets. The dishwasher now works. So people that have the same problem with a bad PCB Assembly Main board 6871dd1006f(r) can replace it with the new 6871dd1006t. It shows that the original board has been discontinued. So my problem has been solved.

You do not have an "OE" error, it is actually a "DE" error. (Drain error) If after 5 minutes of drain time the pump motor RPM's haven't gone up the dishwasher knows that there is still water in the tub and throws the "DE" error. Often times the problem is the controller, but I have found more often that the problem is a long and/or restricted drain line. If someone had to extend the drain hose to reach a drain the extra resistance from the splice and pushing all the extra water in the long drain line prevents the dishwasher from pumping out within the time limit.

In some cases it is possible to correct this condition by first making sure the drain hose has a high loop to prevent siphoning, then running the drain line through the floor and into an open trap. (again, to prevent siphoning) Do not use extensions on the dishwasher drain hose supplied with the unit.
