Question about Dell Precision Workstation 670 PC Desktop
THE COMPUTER WILL NOT BOOT UP AT ALL . AS SOON AS YOU TURN ON THE POWER SWITCH ALL THE FANS COME ON IN THE TURBO MODE. THE LIGHTS INDICATE A FAULTY RMA. WE HAVE TRIED REPLACING THE MOTHER BOARD, AND THE RMA WHICH MADE NO DIFFERENCE. ALSO NO BEEPS CAN BE HEARD. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
This is probably a problem with the CPU or CPU seating. Try reseating the cpu(s) carefully and try to boot up again.
If you have 2, take one out, try one at a time, and make sure you do not use too much compound because too much pressure on the CPU seems to set this off.
If you're not sure, reseat the CPU, then startup for 2 seconds w/o the heatsink. If the turbo fan doesn't go off, we're on to something. Clean your compound, put a thin new dab on there, and place the heatsink in position evenly. This worked for me, let me know if it works for you.

Have you tried a differnt video card? Also disconnect everything including the hard drive to see if the system will POST. If it does, them start connecting 1 item at a time.
