Air conditioner is set on cool and furnace is coming on and blowing hot air. What could be causing this problem? Thank you

My first thought is a bad thermostat or control board or maybe something is wired wrong. If all that seems to be working I would look at the outside unit. if that condenser fan motor is not operating then you wont get any cooling. look for a swollen capacitor. Read more
