hello Adenyeurt.
Please follow the steps below with you sky remote.
press TV
RED & SELECT (flashes twice)
TV
0056
Try the volume button if this works the volume then press SELECT to save if this doesnt press the TV button again then VOLUME continue this step until it does work you volume then remember to press the SELECT button to save the code to the remote.
If for any reason this does not work it means that you have an older remote you may need to get a rev 6 or 8 . You can find out what version your remote is by taking the battery cover off the back of the remote and it will state what version remote you currently have.
Hope this sorts you out. If so then please leave a thumbs up
your TV and, your cable box both "see" a series of invisible (infared) flashes of light like morse code these flases tell them what to do.one answer is to: buy a universal remote so that you can program a button for each device then when you want to control the cable box just push the "cable" button and, then volume etc. to turn your tv off push "tv" then "off" the service man was right but he should have explained this to you
also your cable remote may be programable to work with your tv like a universal remote check with your cable co.
2. Press and hold down select and the red button together until the red light at the top of your Sky remote control flashes twice.
3. Press tv again
Then enter the remote control code using the number keypad. The red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered.
Samsung Code: 0060
4. Point your Sky remote control at your TV and press the Power button. If this turns the off as you'd expect, then the tv should be set, press Select and the remote should work
5. If the TV does not turn off press tv, then press the Power button again, repeat this process until the TV turns off, when the TV turns off press Select.
