SOURCE: amplifier wont turn on.

Generally, when an amplifier goes into protection when you attempt to power it up, it means that the output transistors have failed.

Measure the DC voltage across the B+ and ground terminals as well as across remote and ground. If you have less than 11 volts when the amp tries to power up, the amp could be shutting down due to low voltage.

If the voltage remains near or above 12v, disconnect all speaker wires and signal cables from the amp. If it powers up, the wiring needs to be checked. If it still shuts down, the amp likely has blown output transistors.

SOURCE: lightning audio B300.4 amp protect light

The most likely reason for it to go into protect is shorted output transistors.

I have a kicker 500.2 red protection light is on and red light on top of amp flashes every couple seconds. Have checked all connections and other amp in truck works good. I bought two of these amps and...

Disconnect all the wires except the three main power wires, ground, 12v battery and remote. Now, turn on your radio, if the protect light is still on then there's an internal short in the amp. If the light turns green, then there's a short in either the auxiliary cables or the speaker outs. If it turns green, then troubleshoot the other wires that plug into the amp by connecting them one at a time until the protect light comes on, which will tell you that there's a problem with that speaker/aux wire.

My lanzar 1600 watt amp wont turn on at all why

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty . .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. Might be time to invest in a new amp. lanzar-1600-watt-amp-zb4bomd1rt4qms0dqd12kkt2-3-0.jpg

Disconnect the speaker wires then the power and ground completly. Then power up the amp and if the protection light turn on the you have an interanl problem if not then you ohm is problably to low and causing the amp to go into protections.

Power cap has power amp protect light is on ?

If there is a protection light then you have a bad power or ground connection. First thing I recommend you do is to get a regular test light with a ground alligator clip and test for a ground on your power cable. The way to do this is to place the alligator clip to either your amp turn on wire which is the small blue wire coming from your radio to turn the amp on or another powered wire and place the tip of the test light to the main power cable that powers the amp or the Capacitor and if your test light lights up then you have to trace the power cable from amp back to battery + terminal and see where the power cable is pinched or making a ground contact also check your blue amp turn on wire and see if it has a ground to it. If all this checks out then check your cars battery terminals, make sure they are not loose, corroded, rusty or damaged check fuses or take out amps fuses and reinsert to see if it resets, check all ground connections on amp and cap,if none of this works for you then you might have a defective cap or amp.

Good luck.

When i turn it on the green light turns red and it wont play

you should check your cabling and make sure your ground cable is connected properly to the chassis on a part where it makes contact with bare metal. your amp is going into protection mode, but its mostly caused by incorrect cabling or contact
