I lost sound on my LG 8700

I am able to send and receive texts, but I've lost all sounds on my phone.  I can't hear anything, and no one can hear me.  I can't hear my ringtones when I try to play them. The phone will not produce any sort of sound.  I've checked the volume levels and the mute feature, but that's not the problem.  I've tried resetting the phone by removing the battery, but still nothing.  Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the reply, but I've already tried that. BTW, this is a Verizon phone w/no sim card

Switch off the phone ..
remove the battery .. remove sim card
wait for 3 minutes 20 seconds
insert battery again ..
switch it on ..
it should work ,,

LG enV earpiece and key sound not working. Got the phone 3 weeks ago. No damage at all; hasn't been dropped, water damaged or anything. Worked fine yesterday. Sound settings are fine. Ring tone works and...
go to tools and setting --> sound settings --> keypad volume...see if you see "KEYPAD VOL-EARJACK"...that means that your phone is stuck in EARJACK mode....get a wired ear piece, plug it in, make a call, and then unplug after you end the call....that should resolve your problem...

Its not speaker problem.Its problem with the software in the phone.
I had this problem on my phone and i did a software reset giving it to a repair shop and it was a easy and cheap fix .
He re loaded the software by flashing and i was all ready to keep talking.

Just a master reset wont fix it for us . We need to flash its memory..

Having troubles....I can call out and the person receiving the call can hear me but I cannot hear anything. I can also receive calls, I am heard but I cannot hear the receiver. Help?
the ribbon connector likes to crack in the hinge, go to cell phone doctor or similar and order a new ribbon wire. :) worked for me.....in the mean time you might be able to partially close the phone to hear them.

My LG Xenon won't let me send texts. I can receive texts but cannot send a single one. Whenever I send them, I immediately receive an alert on the phone saying unable to send text. 
this is just happened to me. I would recomend going on www.chacha.com. that is where i found the answer!

I'm having the same problem. Try this, plug some headphones into your phone and then activate your music and while your music is playing unplug your headphones. It worked for me.
