Want to upgrade my graphics card

Hi i have an HP Pavilion 762c desktop with an Nvidia GEForce4 MX 420 graphics card. I'd like to know if I can upgrade to a better card, and if so, what card it would be. I know this is an older computer and that my choices are limited, but I just don't have the money to fully upgrade, so any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Well yeah those would help me find the slightly older cards, but I asked what cards are compatible :P

Where can I buy an upgrade for the video graphics card on the pc shown on the picture

So you are using a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 at the moment. If you are looking to upgrade your Video Card you will need to make sure your Power supply can support the card, and *********** board. Please follow this link to find out how much you want to spend, and what video card you can get:

Hope this helps! Please don't forget to rate, Thanks!

My computer does not see the GeForce4 MX 420 hardware. I can not install drivers for it because of this.

Try this, uninstall all your video drivers in Device Manager and shut the PC down.
Remove your MX 420 and connect the monitor back to the onboard video ( or previous card ).
Boot the PC and go into the BIOS.
Make sure that you select PCI for the graphics option in the BIOS. You are not using it at this moment, but we want it to work when you do put your MX 420 back in.
Now shut it down and put the MX 420 back in.
When you boot and get the "New Hardware found' message, just cancel it and install the MX420 drivers.

Hope this helps.

GeForce4 MX 420 Video Card

First question: Are you sure you have a PCI card?
there are several points here:
Make sure you have the monitor connected to the correct output on your computer. (In this case to the output of the graphics card, not to your onboard output)
If you have a PCI card set bios to PCI
Setting it to AGP means the computer is looking for a graphics card in you AGP-slot on you motherboard.

I cannot help thinking, that you actually have a AGP card in a AGP slot and that you computer is not working on onboard, but on AGP. But you can check which graphics device is used, in display properties (right-click Desktop, Properties, Settings)
