Re: using my tv as a monitor

Right click on desktop, then go to properties. Click on the settings tab. There should be two boxes, labeled 1 and 2. Click on box 2 and select:
Use the device as the primary monitor and Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor. Also go to advanced -> Monitor and make sure that the screen refresh rate will not damage your tv. For older tv's it's usually 60 Hz for NTSC and 50 Hz for PAL.
After getting your settings where you want them, click apply. This will transfer all video output to the auxillary screen and will leave your primary monitor blank until you change the settings back to the primary screen.

Connect the second monitor to the blue VGA port. Download catalyst control center from the below link and install it. Using catalyst control center, you can configure dual monitor. You may need to check 'force tv detection' setting in catalyst control center.

GeForce 7200 GS 256MB won't work with tv

"the tv works and I can see my extended desktop, but ONLY in 800x600!!! Also when I tried to watch a movie on the tv, it only showed a black block"

1. Tv's only support max of 800x600 (technically less)

2. Windows has a built in ANTI theft BS protection that makes viewing video through an alternate output show up black boxed.

Multiple monitor problem

1: First check wether your graphics card is able to support 2 monitors. Not all built-in ones can do that.
2: If you re sure it should be able to work, try restarting the pc after you connect the monitor, it should open a popup and ask what you want to do.
3: If not try updating your drivers and repeat step 2.

As for the tv as a monitor, most digital tv's are able to do that, yes.

I hope this helps,

Connecting PC to TV

you can only use your tv as your monitor by connecting a jack which is included on your video card. you can see on your cpu rear were located the video card interface. theres a hole circle on that with some slots. with use of the adapter came from your video card and a jack connecting to your tv, you can now see your desktop on the tv not on the monitor. hope that helps! pls do rate my post thanks!

It is an Intel Express Chip set Q965/Q963, an integrated card. I'm not at that computer right now, but I believe it is already a generic plug and play driver.
