While the fan is at rest, the lock signal has been detected for 5sec.
While the fan is in operation, the lock signal is not detected for 5 sec.
Check & or Replace the fan. Replace the DC controller PCB the exhaust fan can become dirty or locked up. Clean the fan and make sure the fan blades spin freely. In some cases the fan needs to be replaced.
E00840 is a fan error code, the fan is not working correctly. I would check all the fans for operation. I have a bad feeling that the fan that is not working correctly is the power supply fan, you will need to replace the DC power supply on the left side of the copier.... Good Luck
You will need to replace the fan. Looking at the front of the printer, the fan should be on the right side. You will need to remove right side of the printer to gain access to the fan. Contact HP for a replacement fan.
E805 0000 Fan failure
only one in this copier>
The fan is faulty. -
Check the fan connector.
- Replace the fan.
- Replace the DC controller PCB.
Switching between full-speed rotation and half-speed rotation is controlled as described below.
1) Full-speed control
When the CPU on the DC controller outputs a fan full speed signal
(FAN_FULL), the fan drive voltage switching circuit supplies a +24 V fan
drive voltage to turn
the heat exhaust fan at the full speed.
2) Half-speed control
When the CPU on the engine controller outputs a fan half speed signal
(FAN_HALF), the fan drive voltage switching circuit supplies a +16 V fan
drive voltage to
turn the heat exhaust fan at the half speed.
E805-0000 (Main body fan error)
When the cooling fan of the main body starts, the fan lock detection
signal (FAN_LOCK) has been held at the "H" level for longer than the

That is the fuser exaust fan. It either is running to slow or not running at all.
The board detects a current difference and reports that fault code. Really common.
The fan part number is 127K29340.
To replace it you remove the right side cover, top cover on and the rear cover. You have to take off the shroud around the fan which is only 2 screws and replace the fan.
You can try removing the fan, cleaning it well and lubricate the bearing in the center. But that never is a permanent fix. Will work as a fix until you get a new fan.
The fan is not easy to replace...... The fan is located under the black transport belts. The fan is part of the unit that brings the paper from the transfer & drum to the fuser unit. The unit is black and it looks like tank tracks. From what I remember the fan is acturely in the transport unit ... Good Luck
Its a fan related error, basicaly you should check all the fans in copier, clean the filters, reconect the connectors, try to find a bad fan,... When you find the bad fan you can also replace it with new matching PC fan
E805 error code means failure of one of the many fans inside the
copier. If there is not a dash with four numbers after the 805 code on
the display, it is one of two fans - FM1 the transport bed fan or FM9 -
the reversing fan just below the fuser assy. There are several checks
that can be done but a too lengthy to be described. A tech maybe the
best answer depending on your mechanical ability.
