We have a Sharp Notevision XG P10XU and no user manual. Can we connect it to a tv or a digibox to project the World Cup matches onto the big screen?

I don't know if you can connect it to a TV, but... here is the link for the user manual.

Good luck!

I am using my xg-p10xu projector in my home Theater and can not figure out how to get rid of the extra black screen that still appears top and bottom of the wide screen version, can anyone help?

That wide screen black out areas are a pain. You can try seeing if the unit has an option to adjust for Wide Screen but as many projectors i work with none do that i work with. Check your manual and see what you can come up with but from what i know your stuck with the black unless you run non-WS versions =\

Installing new Lens

remove the lens cover (screw on bottom front of lens, and twist the cover off). if you don't see it from there, remove the 4 side screws and take off the top cover of the projector. you will definitely see it from there.

Sharp XG-P10XU lamp problem

power supply or lamp ballasts, both are pretty common to produce results as you describe, looking at $600.00 or so to repair. if those are the only things wrong.
