Question about Memorex iWake MI4004 Clock Radio

No sound When I attach my Ipod nano, I don't get any sound. I can hear a slight buzz in the background, but it doesn't play any songs. I've gone through the troubleshooting in the manuel, checked to be sure it was in Ipod mode and that both the volumes were turned up, and still nothing. It has worked in the past. Any thoughts? M

Re: No sound

No thats not it , i have the same problem and both the ipod and iwake are fine.. even when i try to use the radio th one iwake, no sound comes out still.. so i thought the problem lies within the speaker, but even when i plug earphones into the iwake, no sound comes out of them, whether it be on ipod or radio..

Re: No sound

Check to see if the male end on the iwake or the female end on the nano are damaged, it sounds like a bad connection.

Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except PHONO). Get a cable like the one described here:

I have the memorex Mi4004 and it won't charge my ipod touch. I have to third generation ad it is 8GB.

Hi, I do have the solution, the Memorex Mi400 clock radio does not itself support charging of the iPod touch. last model supported was the iPod video 5g. There may be a way around this however, I have an iPod sound system that doesn't support charging either-however it has a ipod charging port on the back-if I plug in my iPod touch's charger there it charges, so I would look on the back of your clock radio to see if there is a connector that looks like the one on the bottom of your iPod touch. Plug charger in there and you'll be good to go. I hope this was helpful and thanks for choosing FixYa-good luck, Prodzilla.

My iPod nano got washed and I let it dry for a couple of days, and it works now, but the backlight or something is dim and now I can only see the screen when I am shining some kind of light on it. WHAT DO...

If you can not increase the brightness in the settings tab then odds are the backlight to the screen has gone out. To fix this a screen replacement would do the trick.

here is a link to an amazon store that sells them for under 15 bucks

My memorex quit playing all sound

  1. Unplug the unit and remove the batteries, wait 5 minutes, plug the unit back in and install the batteries.
  2. Check the male end on the iwake and the female end of the ipod for damage, if you are using an ipod it sounds like you may have a bad connection.
  3. Check if the Radio function plays sound.
  4. Make sure the Volume is not turned down.
  5. Does it play through the headphone jack? If so, your speakers may have failed.
  6. Most likely this will need to be sent in to Memorex, or a new unit will need to be purchased.

I have a bose wave radio fo many years, when turn it on there is a constant buzz as the radio plays. the buzz varies if i move or position the radio differently. sounds antenna related but there is no...

The antenna is built in. The buzz you're hearing is a 60cycle hum (electricity from a nearby appliance) Try this, put an extension cord on it and walk it around your listening room for best reception. You can also find the culprit appliance by turning items off 1 by 1 until buzz subsides.

I got the iH8 as a present everything works fine except for the ipod alarm. the unit will play my music when i press the play ipod button, and recognizes its plugged in, but when i set the ipod alarm, without taking out the ipod or anything, it doesnt go off with my music, it just buzzes. Idont think it is the ipod because i have updated the software on the ipod and have even tried 3 different ipods with the iH8. i have had the iH8 for about 2 weeks and set it nearly every day, and out of all those times it has gone off with my music only 3 times. How do i get it to work every time!??
