Printer won't print in some softwares but will print in others.
I've tried 2 different printers. I've uninstalled the printers and re-installed them. I've changed printer drivers. The same thing is happening with both printers. I can print in some softwares but not in others. I don't get any kind of error message when it doesn't print. The printer windows respond as if everything went to the printer ok. I've checked the printer que to see if anything is hung. All looks good. I've attached both of these printers to other computers and they print fine. I've even connected to these printers over the network from the "bad" computer and everything will print, just not when they are hooked up directly to this one computer. We are running Windows 2000 SP4 machines on a Windows 2003 Server network.

Hi Bill, Have you tried the printers on another PC?Please do.
Whats the Operating System on your PC?Do the printer drivers correspond with that Operating System? If not, download the corresponding drivers from this dell support site. This you select under compatibility.
After uninstalling the printer, disconnect fully and unplug from power.Reboot your PC before installing the printer again.
This type of problem is often caused because recently installed software is incompatable with your current software. If you have installed any software since the printer last worked, try uninstalling this software first (this usually works).
If this does not solve the problem, or you have not installed any new software first run your antivirus/antispyware programs. Make sure that you disconnect your computer from the internet before running antivirus.
If you are still having problems, then preform a system restore. To do this on XP follow these steps:
Hi. If you had done utility check and they are fine, had you try printing on a stand alone not using a computer. if you can print on a stand alone, there is no problem on the hardware side of the printer because u were able to print on a stand alone. you can focus now on the software side by uninstalling and re installing the driver of the printer and that should work.
2) If you are print through Network please ping your printer if you are not getting the print. Open command prompt and type ping 192........your pinter ip, if you r getting reply to your printer its mean your connect to printer.
