Question about Nikon Coolpix 5200 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Coolpix L6: the view screens looks as if the lens is cracked... there is a curved line with the picture showing below and a bright view with nothing legible above the line.. also these are two spots on the crack where it looks as if water or oil has seeped in the crack. Can this be repaired or is it better to buy a new camera?

Re: Coolpix L6:

I've searched around on the internet for you, and I'm sure anything can be repaired, but I think the best answer is that the costs would equal that of a new camera.

Please rate a FixYa! for the response. ThankYa!

There are white lines in monitor of my nikon

I'm afraid only a technician can repair this. Perhaps some parts must be replaced.
If the camera still makes good pictures, perhaps you better learn to live with the lines. Check is the white lines appear on an image you view on your computer. If so, the sensor or processor is damaged. Then you better start looking for a new camera, because that will be cheaper than to repair you S4300

Half of the image on the screen of my Nikon L6

Yes, the colored vertical lines, this actually means that the screen is cracked internally..I know this is not something you will like to hear, because this is such a great unit, at the best there might be a loose connection, but i doubt this.

I always post a link where the use can download a updated soft copy of the manual whach can be used for future troubleshooting. Just click on the link below, where you will be directed to a page where you can download the manual.

Hope this can be of help.

Kind regards

With the power off, hold the camera in your palm and smack the front of the camera on your leg or arm. You might have to smack it a few time to get it to work. It has to do with the camera CDD lense (shuttle) being stuck. By smacking it around, it will free up the lense. Being extra gentle with it though. It worked for me. Hope this help.
