Re: deleted game

You have to re-download it from either another calculator or the computer. Once you delete it, it is gone for good! (If you're going to re-download it, I would recommend running a GarbageCollect beforehand. Just "2nd" "0" (Catalog) and hit the "TAN" button (because it it associated with the letter G) and scroll down to "GarbageCollect" and hit enter twice. It will ask you if you want to GarbageCollect and hit "Yes". The reason I suggest this is because it will help keep your calculator running smoothly!)

I am trying to download a game onto my Ti-84 Plus calculator, but it says I have insufficient memory and I can't put it on. how can I fix that?

Considering the fact that you cannot add a memory card to the calculator you have two options:
  1. Preserve the limited RAM and Flash memory of the calculator and use it just as a calculator: No games.
  2. Delete unnecessary applications (especially the languages you do not understand and do not need). If you delete a language you should also delete the other applications that are in that language. Periodic table, Study cards etc.
To delete an application
  1. Press [2nd][[+] to open the (MEM)ory management
  2. Select [2:Mem Mgt/Del..]
  3. Scroll down till you reach [A:Apps]
  4. Highlight and Press {ENTER]
  5. Use down arrow to highlight an application you do not want and press the [DEL] button.
  6. You will be asked "Are you Sure?"
  7. If you are sure you want to delete press [2:Yes] to confirm the deletion.
Keep in mind that most problems of fast draining of batteries, strange calculator behavio(u)r are related to the use of 3rd party games downloaded from the INTERNET.

Restore factory settings

Did you go to delete all? If so then, that's what will happen. If you have your cord, you can put things back in your calculator like games and such, I'm not sure if it'll cost money and your calculator will be at risk of getting a virus too.

In the TI-83 plus, i don't have a Y1 list in the 2nd graph menu. All I have is X and it wont let me scroll up to the X, it just keeps scrolling up into neg. numbers

To fix that problem, you have to delete all of the applications/programs, I forgot which. I had to do it on mine and I could graph anything after, but it deletes everything in your calculator, including your games.

I was playing a game, casino, and i won over 120000 dallars and then my calculator stoped working can you help

Congratulation!!! You are a millionaire at 12%
Help you do what? Reclaim the money and transfer it to your bank account? Restore your calculator? Surely you must be joking? With such a sum to your name, you can hire a whole slew of certified accountants to do your calculations for you.
I think I have a solution for your calculator troubles, but I know you will not like, and I am weary of people rejecting a CORRECT answer because that is not what they want to hear.

Your calculator memory is probably full. The casino game shuffles a lot of data. As you keep playing, more data is generated that needs memory space to be stored in. And when no more space is available, the calculator freezes.
The solution is to reset memory to make room. If you know what to delete (data no longer needed) press [2nd][Mem][2:All][ENTER]. Scroll down the list, to choose an item, press [DEL], confirm with Yes if asked and press [ENTER].
After you delete a few items, press [2nd][QUIT] to allow defragmenting. Repeat procedure to delete a few more, to free space.

My second row of buttons dont work. 4 5 6 subtract. evreything else does

If there are no hardware defects, a third-party game or application may have remapped the keypad. If that is the case (only you know what you were doing) uninstall the game or application. You do not have to delete it, just unload it from memory, and reset the calculator to recover normal behavior.

Hope it helps.
Do rate the solution and thank you for using FixYa.

Can you delete ram with ti connect?

This is your question which I think is the solution for this question!

I downloaded Mirage OS, and now I can't download any of the games. I downloaded tetris before, and then I came back and can't download anything through TI connect.

Obviously, at times ti connect is going to be worthless to you if you have OS Mirage. So, that's correct! Plus, it didn't cost me a calculator to find that out!

For you to get it off? I can think of a few, I glad I don't have too..

Misinterpreting Program Types

many times it all as to do with how much memory you actually have. the more games the less memory, and if you use too much memeory on the actuall files it doesnt have enough to run games, to free up space either delete some files or archive them (archiving renders them unuseable untill u rearchive them) but archiving has alot more space

also some games are not compatible with mirage os or ti 84

hope this helped

Garbage Collecting from hell

Hey soccerman
don't worry man, It's probably just frozen. So try hitting on. This MIGHT break the garage. Do what ever you have to do to try to get it to stop. I can't say how important it is to try to get it to make it stop. If you take out the batteries it will stop but if it's truly frozen it's likely it might come back to the same screen then you will be royally SCREWED. so if you get it back to the normal screen you need to try to get rid of some stuff.
calculators are much like computers they have RAM and a hard drive. However the hard drive is just called ARC space. so your computer is trying to get rid of stuff aka garbage collect so that it can find more space. so you need to hit 2nd then + then go to memory manager and delete some stuff. most archived programs run around 16,000. so like when i fix people calculators i often delete TI sample and TI problem simulator. that should free up enough space for you. then archive your games so that they won't get deleted. (you archive stuff by hitting enter when your in memory manager) it doesn't matter as long as you run them through mirage. that will give you more ARC and RAM space. just to let you know. when you make these changes it will garabe collect again or defragment. don't freak out just let it do it's thing. GOOD luck hope this helps. tell me if it doesn't work i'll try to help again

TI-83 plus graphing calculator

This can easily be fixed. An Archived program can't be deleted or run. So you just have to unarchive it. hit "2nd" then "+" then go down to where it says "Mem Mgmt/Del" and hit enter. then hit all. There should be a "*" next to the program you can't run. now just hit enter and in a couple seconds it will be unarchived and the * will go away. Then you can delete or run that program. Hope this helps alot. Good luck

My TI has a graphical problem

There could be a few solutions. First check if your OS is the same as your friend's. You can check this by [2nd][+] About. It is in the second row. If they aren't, don't worry. Second, you could have a corrupt copy caused by transfer. Delete your file and have your friend send a new copy. Third, delete the file and use a different link cable. If none of those work, delete the file and download it directly from the computer. I had three-hundred games on my calculator at one point so I have dealt with this many times. Good luck!
