I was given a 27 inch Toshiba television but it doesnt have the remote. I bought GE universal remote and it wont work with the tv. I have a Radio shack on another tv and tried that one as well and it would operate the tv either. Any ideas as to why this tv wont cooperate?

Hi, as the sets get older the codes for older models get deleted to make room in the remotes memory chip for the newer models, this is probably why none of the universals will work for you, post the model number found on the back cover of your tv & I`ll look it up to see if theres a sub or the original is still available, video-tek
