What should I do after "Easy Software Setup"?

I followed the "Easy Software Setup". The configuration is completed. I have two questions.
1. When I acessed the Web-based configuration utility, I saw much simpler screens than those in the User Guide.
2. I will use WA840G as an access point. What else should I do after "Easy Software Setup"? Should I just unplug the ethernet cable from the computer and plug it into the router?

Can't configure the network with ethernet cable

Hey, you're almost there. The connection between the no-wireless PC over ethernet to the DAP-1360 Repeater is fine. The reason it can't connect to your LAN or the internet, however, is that the repeater isn't actually repeating your Ofir network, it is instead creating it's own, completely isolated wireless network (Ofir_EXT).

The D-Link setup and documentation is confusing, and doesn't have proper instructions for the repeater setup.

Rerun the setup wizard, setup as a repeater, then select manual configuration method.

Now, enter the wireless network name of your the network you want to extend (in this case, Ofir). Then enter the same security and password etc. for Ofir in the following fields, just like you were connecting to Ofir from a smartphone or laptop.
Once that is finished, you should be up and running. If things worked, you should NOT see any new wireless network. There should be Ofir and just Ofir. Wireless repeaters work invisibly, you'll still connect to the same network like you always did, but now it will have much improved range thanks to the DAP-1360. The computer entherneted to it should be networked on the wireless LAN and have internet access after this as well.

Good luck, I hope my instructions were clear. Wifi networking is easy, it's understanding all the manufacturers less-than-intuitive software that makes it hard.

Hi! I have a number of SPECTRUM24 4131 acces points. I would like tu use them for commercial purpose in a hotel in africa with a web portal for login authentification. I am looking for a skilled person...

What do you need to know / what do you already know ? This is a large question.
1. Are all your access points configured
2. For your captive portal you could use MikroTik software. There is a large community based on the software and step by step instructions to setup a captive portal.

1. Step 1 Position your Belkin wireless G router.
Place your wireless G router in a wide open and central location. Don't connect the power plug into the router, yet. Make sure your computer is turned off.

2. Step 2 Connect all the devices.
Find the Ethernet cable that connects your PC to the modem. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your PC and insert it into the wireless G router's WAN port. You should have an additional Ethernet cable that came with your router. Take this cable and plug one end into one of the LAN ports on the router. Then connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.

3. Step 3 Turn on your modem, router, and PC.
Plug the power plug adapter into the modem. Turn on the modem. It'll take approximately 30 seconds for the modem to boot up. Connect the power plug adapter to the router and the other end into a power strip or outlet. Like the modem, it'll take about 30 seconds for the router to boot. Turn on your PC.

4. Step 4 Verify lights are on for your devices.
Make sure the following lights are on for your router: power, WAN, and LAN light. If you don't see any of them lit, confirm these devices are turned on. Make sure the Ethernet cable connections are installed correctly.
Step 5 Install and configure software.
Use the setup wizard application to configure your Belkin wireless G router. Set up features, such as creating your password and setting up your time zone. Continue to follow the setup wizard so you can configure ?other settings

Access point configuration

Access is easy to configure, you just need to understand basic setup you need to do and just have to find the same options on the configuration page of any wireless access point.

Things to setup.
1. Local IP Address ( You will get default according to your device guide, still you can set different (not recommended, if not expert) )

2. Setup WAN IP-This could be dial up connection (PPPOE) or Internet IP Address provided by your internet provider.

3. Setup Wireless access point SSID, this is what you will find when you scan for wireless connection available

4. Setup security settings. You can setup WPA or WAP to protect security. Just need to select and assign key/password which you will be asked while connecting SSID

Follow the link for exact information on how to setup your Access Point,review-233-3.html

Hope this helps

maybe you might want to clarify that question ?what configuration

Well try going to your router ip adress it might be in the manual and it usually starts like this http://192.XXX.X.X
SSID = Network name
WEP/WPA/WPA-2 PSK are encryption protocols use WPA-2PSK for better security * with this you need to enter a password

You need to setup your other wireless devices using windows wireless setup wizard or use the software on the cd (wireless device cd)

I hope i managed to answer your question?

Have router dont have software need to find it

The Hawking Wireless-G HWR54G is a standalone device, there is no software needed on your PC for the router to work. However there is an easy Setup Wizard. If you are referring to this, perhaps you can contact their tech-support here or call 888-202-3344 or email them.

Should you prefer to wing it, the HawKing site has provided online guides. Open your browser and go to the Configuration Page ( Follow on screen instructions.
On another PC with Internet connection, open a browser. Below are links to pages you might need:
Connection Diagram;
Frequently asked Questions;

Remember to use LAN interface when setting the router (as shown in the connection diagram) and set your PC to an IP Address of, Subnet Mask of

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
