Since the rotary switch has positive stops at both ends of its arc, the odds are that either the set screw has fallen out of the knob or that the switch blade has completely broken in half so that the shaft can spin freely. The first is easy, the second requires taking the whole case apart to get at the back side of the switch and replace the switch blade.

Hope this helps,

The only way you can get a repair manual is to be a service shop, but what your saying is the dial turns with no resistance.did anyone turn the dial while someone was welding?if so the dial has to be replace, what happens is the contacts inside the unit weld together becuase once the dial is turning it breaks contact then makes contact welding the dial in place. You would not be able to turn the dial.so if the dial turns very easy I would check to see if the dial handle is loose on its shaft.the unit can be taken apart but it just takes a little time.it is a very basic unit with not to many internal parts.good luck, you can fix the problem.

Lincoln electric ac/dc arc welder will not arc

Check the dial indicator. Sometimes if someone changes the amps while welding, there will be a break in the coil. It will work at a different setting as long as you are away from the break.

Miller econotwin control stuck

Is the amperage adjust crank or the HF switch not working?
To repair the amperage crank you need to buy a new shunt block screw @ $ 80.00 or make your own by threading 8" length of 3/8" BRASS rod (dont use steel).
Can send pics of procedure.

Need the diagram for an old welder, ac/dc 125/225 need to find out how to hook the fan up

Usually the fan if it is, 112/225V. It simply connects across the Line, Phase to neutral, but AFTER the mains switch. So that it is "On" only after the Power has been switched on.
