Hi, Our DVDs will not load. We are able to open and close the player, the DVD sounds like it spins as it loads, and loads, and loads but we are unable to press play it basically will not let us get to...

Hello suziorange and welcome to FixYa. I see your having issues getting your DVD player to playback movies which can be a few different issues. First I would say it could be dirty discs but that is not likely the case since you have been trying multiple discs. Secondly it's possible your laser lens inside the unit has become dirty and needs to be cleaned. This can be easily cleaned by unplugging your unit. Next remove the screws on the bottom and the back of the unit that hold the outer case of the unit on and then gently using a microfiber or other soft cloth to wipe the lens. You can use water or a lens solution if you wish however do not use alot as you do not want to risk getting any inside components saturated with liquid. Next replace the outer case and try to playback a DVD again. If none of the suggestions work I can tell you with almost certainty that your DVD drive has burned out which will require you to call customer service or just buy a new DVD player altogether which would probaly be the more cost effective option. I hope you found this information helpful and good luck. If you have any questions please use the comment box below and thank you for using FixYa.

Old dvds wont play in old or new player bought 3 brand ones still wont work what brand player shuld i buy tell me whats wrong

If you have purchased multiple dvd players and none of them will play your DVDs (including your old player which previously played the old DVDs), then your issue is with the DVDs. You have to replace them because they have been damaged or scratched and can't be read by the laser anymore. DVDs are not indestructible and can eventually be damaged beyond repair. You'll have to replace the DVDs, which makes more economic sense than buying multiple DVD players to try and play them. If these are home movies or personal recordings you should contact a local computer store about data recovery.

Doesn't load DVDs but plays VCDs

this is exactly response I would like to hear - an expert opinion!

What I did with help of 1mm-wide screwdriver:

1) There were two surface-mount potentiometers marked with C1 and D. I tried first D. Turned it clock- and counterclockwise by about 45 degrees.
2) After each turn I opened and closed tray to force the player read DVD disc.
3) It did not help, "NO DISC", then I tried the same with C1, and again, no luck.
4) Finally, I came back to D and turned it by about 180 degrees in one direction. IT WORKED!!!

Moreover, seem that now player reads content of the DVD discs faster then before. Probably manufacturer did not really adjust it properly and upon the time something has degraded, so it failed eventually.

Mizuda dvd player wont read dvds

Hi,

A couple of things To try.

1:) The DVD Player May be Region encoded, can only play certain region Dvds. ** Try different Disks**

2:) The Disk May Be Dirty-Scratched ( Towards The Centre )
** Clean The Disk With A Soft Lint-Free Cloth**

3:) The Laser Head may have a speck of dust or debris on it.
** Try a Laser Cleaning CD**

Hope this works For You.

My Smasung DVD/VCR Combo stopped reading DVDs because of a dirty read head. It started by only playing disks sometimes, and progressed to never playing disks. I assumed it was a dirty laser lens so I bought a lens cleaner set. Unfortunately my player wouldn't play the cleaner disk.

So I took it apart and cleaned the laser lens manually with some isopropyl alcohol (the clenser that came with my cleaning disk), and a lens cloth (that came with my glasses). Just open the case (starting with the screws in the back) and remove the snap in cross panel that obscures the lens of the DVD portion. Put a drop of cleanser on the lens and gently wipe it with the cloth.

Oh and by the way, I take no responsibility if you break your own player while following my instructions. My own DVD player was far out of warranty at the time I cracked it open.
