Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out. The 130 is your temp setting
Scale Build-up in Heat Exchanger (when checking maintenance code history, "00" is substituted for "LC") Flush heat exchanger. Refer to instructions in manual. Replace heat exchanger. NOTE: The LC code is the only code that will allow the unit to keep running.
The display will alternate between the LC code and the temperature setting.
The controller will continue to beep. The LC code will reset if power is turned off and then on.

LC is the error code that you get when you have limescale buildup in the heat exchanger. You need to flush your heat exchanger. If you have the manual for your water heater, use it. The manual to mine is attached. The procedure for flushing it is covered on page 12. I suggest that you have a certified Rinnai plumber perform this task as it requires a ciruclating pump and some hoses that you need to connect to your water heater. If you don't perform this task, it is possible that you will need to replace your heat exchanger and this is not something covered by Rinnai's warranty.
you need to flush out the rinnai. to do this you will need 4 gallons of white viniger & a circulating pump. #1 disconnect the power. #2 close both incoming & outgoing water valves under the unit. #3 conect a drain hose to the out going flush valve ( flush valves are under the unit & have brass caps) #4 connect pump outlet hose to ingoing flush valve. #5 put pump incoming hose & drain hose from outgoing flush valve in a 5 gallon bucket. #6 pour 4 gallons of vinager into the bucket. #7 open both flush valves. #8 turn on the circulating pump & let viniger pump in the incoming flush valve through the rinnai & out the outgoing flush valve back into the bucket for 45 min. #9 disconct pump from incoming side & close incoming flush valve.( don,t close outgoing vaves at this time) #10 put out going hose in empty bucket. #11 open incoming water to flush viniger out of unit. # 12 disconct outgoing hose , close outgoing flush valve & open outgoing water valve. #13 clean filter & turn on power.
