My Marcy ME 709 is making a clunking sound. I opened the cover and the belt is not slipping off the track. I've only had it 3 months. Any ideas as to what it could be?

On my wife's machine, it was the clutch/freewheel coil spring making a chunching sound when it engaged each time. Any variation in lbs of thrust on each pedal stroke also made it crunch. This crunch is amplified through the body of the bike and becomes a clunk with each pedal stroke, and sounds just like a loose crank/ bottom bracket. I replaced the pedals to test and replaced the grease in the crank bearings/cups with Phil Wood grease, and agonized on the tightness of the cone on the crank before finding the real source of the noise. I allpied some grease to that clutch spring and worked it in a bit and there is no more clunk. Also, it is smoother in generat for my swapping out the crank bearing grease. Wife is happy. :-)

Belt runs with hesitation. stops during rotation and starts again. like it's slipping

If it does this while you are exercising it is one of two problems. First make sure that the walk belt is adjusted correctly( you should be able to pick up the outer edge of belt about 1.5 inches), if the belt is tight enough, then remove the front cover ( 3 screws at fron and 2 or 3 under), start the treadmill with cover off and watch as you walk, see if the drive belt(small one going from motor to front roller),is still turning after you try to STOP the walk belt with your feet. If the drive belt still turns, see if the front roller stops but the drive pully (other end of drive belt)still turns. If so you need a front drive roller assy. Od if the belt(drive) quits while the motor stays running, adjust the motor, or replace the drive belt.

The motor is getting louder & louder as you get faster, even at a walking pace. Also a clunking sound. Mat is oiled.

Unplug unit remove motor shroud then plug unit in then start it up observe where the noise is coming from. The best way to check the rollers to see if the bearings have failed is using a long shafted flat tip screw driver and place it on the shaft of the front roller, then put your ear on the handle and listen, if the sound has amplified then the roller is defective and needs replacing. If not then check the The drive motor the same way, last but not least check the rear roller by placing the screw driver on the end of each adjusting bolts. this is best I found to eliminate what component if defective. then call your tunturi dealer and either order the part and do it yourself or have their servicer complete the repair.

Clunking problem

There is aeveral things it could be. Check cataliac converter. As it gets older it breaks down inside and rattles. If you hear noise while driving it could be the brake pads on the front clapping.
