Hi djmalatesta
One could go all superstitious and suggest that it was just bad luck!! It is unusual for one of these industry standard mics to just stop. The most likely cause is the capsule has gone open circuit. you could check this with the 1k range on a multimeter by unscrewing the wind shield and measuring across the . connections to the capsule. If the capsule measures ok, it may be the wiring to the XLR socket at the base of the mic, the switch getting to there. Either way, it can be fixed. Can you meter out the capsule and report back to me what you found?
