Broken Polycom Multiplexer QUAD BRI

Hi there,

I'm trying to get 384Kbps out of my Polycom Viewstation 512.
At the moment, I can achieve 128K only.
I'm trying to establish if the mulitplexer is broken or the 2nd and 3rd lines are down.
I plug the cables to 2 different IMUX but everytime the 2nd and 3rd lines were flashing.
The problem is, I am not sure the IMUX works perfectly.
Is it possible to repair a multiplexer?
Would I be able to do myself?

Re: Broken Polycom Multiplexer QUAD BRI

I have had similar situations with the multiplexer where individual lines stopped working. I would recommend to just go to ebay and search for a replacement there. The used devices are usually so cheap that it is not worth opening up and repairing the quad bri.

How does and Atlas 550 split to analog

The Atlas 550 is modular, and can break out the 23 channels as BRI or FXS. Since you want 23 analog lines, I presume you want regular 2-wire phone lines (aka, FXS lines). The you that by using 3 "Octal FXS" modules (8 port modules) in addition to the T1 module.

Hi Berido, you can extend telephone lines over the 3600 by using LGE and LGS cards fitted with a ringer PSU in the 3600 at the end point, works well, for more info send me a mail,

DVR fans won't spin

You are going to need to test the voltage going to the fan with a metter. It should read 12 volts DC or slightly higher. If it does you need to replace the fan.

What is the function of expended many band width of mux 3600 single shelf, doul shelf.27LC card suport daat limit.why we use expanded card in mux 3600?and DINC card use for how many data sopor

You mean Expander Card.
The original chassis was fitted with only 6 slots and thus the control card can only manage these 6 slot single bandwidth. (2Meg per slot). As the 8 slot chassis was develop it was I think cheaper to build a new card as to build a new control card to manage the other two slot (7 and 8). So the expander card was build and to extend the shelf to 16 slots you do need the expander card fitted with a +16 expander module so that you can manage both chassis and provide double bandwidth per slot (4 Meg per slot).

There are two types of DNIC cards, nl. 6 circuit and 12 circuit. This card must be fitted with a DSP module if you want to configure the ports for 128K. Only 26XX DTU’s will work with this card. This card and DTU’s has been discontinued.

The 27LC2 card is a 6 circuit card and only 27XX and 2751/2/3 DTU’s will work with this card. This card and DTU’s has been discontinued.

The replacement for this card is the 27LC3 card and 27XX and 2751/2/3 DTU’s will work on them.

The 3600 mux is a single shelf which can be extended to a dual shelf. Each slot using a expander+16 can deliver 4 Meg. If only a single shelf is used you can fit a +8 module on the control card to provide you with 8 slots and 4 meg per slot.

My mainstreet has intermittently flashing out of sync light what does that meen?

Hi ppater,

This is likely to be a clocking issue, common in PDH networks. If you provide more details on the application you are working in I can suggest a clocking setup to rectify this issue.

Kind rgds,

What is a multiplexer?

In networking a multiplexer separates the voice-frequency signals from the high-speed data traffic on your telephone line and controls and routes digital subscriber line traffic between the end-user equipment and the network service provider's network. It has got multiple inputs and a selector that connects a specific input to the single output.

Front panel dialing

You need to check in the 'network options', 'dial line', #4 'dial options' to see if you have the front panel function enabled.

As for not being able to call ISDN in the US, that is a possible routing or long distance service issue you need to have looked at by your service provider.
